So, a day or two ago, there was a non-meeting meeting of the completely bogus, public input excluded or ignored "Joint Oregon-Washington Legislative Screw Clark County Committee."
It was a non-meeting meeting because thankfully, Oregon blew it off.
Naturally, the democrats such as Cleveland and so forth want to ram loot rail down our throats: it's been a leftist meme for over a decade.
Many, like Cleveland, have lied about it, attacked opponents at a visceral level over it, lied about what this scam will do for us (as opposed to TO us) lied about the current bridge's condition (if those behind the CRC rip off were accurate in their assessments, the current I-5 Bridge should have dropped in the river the moment Sen. Ann "Bridge Killer" Rivers got that done.)
So, it seems just the tiniest bit odd to see alleged Republicans like Sen. Lynda Wilson (D-Tracy) and Sen. Ann "Gas Tax" Rivers now as busily ramming this massive waste of hundreds of millions of dollars down our throats after working so diligently to blow it up so few years ago, as they were working against it a few years ago.
Those were the halcyon days of Republicanism. Legislators who seemed to vote their districts... who listened to the people instead of to those merely writing the checks to buy government.
Unlike now... where the special interests yank their chains a tiny bit and you get this kabuki theater where, once again, the people paying the bills are ignored because the slime "representing us" all know better than those who foolishly believed in them at the ballot box... based on, well, the "promise them anything to get elected" school of thought.
It's bad enough that Gas Tax Rivers yoked this county with a $700 million bill to help Seattle/King County pay for their massive loot rail boondoggles.
Now, Wilson and Rivers want to force the commuting public to pay several hundred million... to multiple billions... more to pay for the loot rail scam they had helped to get rid of a few short years ago.
Sure looks like someone has bought the zebras in THIS game... and they're out to make us suffer.
