Ron Hebron is mad at us. As a one of those neo-communist union hacks who believe the world only exists to entertain him, I suppose that's to be expected.
Like most CRC Scammers, he seems to be from the rather communistic "screw-you-and-what-your-community-wants, it's-for-the-greater-good" school of thought. Except it's likely more about him getting a job building this crap pile than anything else.
He asks some questions and makes some unsupportable statements... so, I thought I'd help him out a little bit.
Under yet another of the ongoing series of obituary pieces the democratian is running on the CRC, Ron posted this in response to the accurate observations of a Clark County citizen who expressed relief at this empire's demise:
Hysteria never really served the Scammers all that well. And the observation above is an example of that, given that tens of millions of people on the west coast have never and will never set foot on this bridge.
But it's the variety of exaggeration that ilk preferred.
Whether it's our "duty" to dictate the outcome of this bridge is a more esoteric question. I prefer to think of it more in terms of the triumph of evil when good men... and women... do nothing.
Was it our "right?"
Of course it was. Why even ask? You see, besides the obvious: that we DID "dictate" the outcome you're whining about (Therefore, by definition, it, in fact, WAS our "right") WE are ultimately the ones that YOU would have forced to pay for it.
We pay the bills?
We have the say. Thanks for asking.
You could have had the fringe-left nutters you so admire in DC just write a check for the whole thing; then we really WOULDN'T have had any say.
Your side refused to strip loot rail off this scam (And, after all, according to YOUR Supreme Court, all it was, was a light rail project) and as a result, it didn't get built. You got a problem with that?
Take it up with Kitzhaber.
SOMEBODY is being "undemocratic," but it ain't us.
Stalin would be proud of you, Ron.
And in the interest of accuracy, what you SHOULD have written was:
Oh... we know it will be back, Ronnie. And that's why anyone supporting this rip off here locally is likely to be DOA at the polls.
And Ron, how do you square this with the repeatedly told lies about how we're done for the next 10 or more years?
The sickness of the CRC Scammer IS difficult to describe adequately. But Ron, here, makes a damned fine example.

I thought so. Here's some news - You're wrong. That's democracy for you. If we are wrong, then we have the right to be wrong. We're not, of course, but we had and have much more of a right to kill this idiocy than your side had the right to ram it down our throats. Hopefully, in time, you and your ilk will get over it.
You are the disgraceful and undemocratic ones. If this was[sic] a community center in your vaunted Vancouver, then it would be up to you to vote for or against it. It is not a community center. It is a national freeway system, of which a few miles out of thousands run through your town.Again, Ron, you seem to think that just any group can form, ignore the people of a given region, saddle us with billions of dollars of debt for an unneeded, unwanted and unaffordable project that accomplishes practically nothing outside stuffing loot rail into Clark County, and that we shouldn't have any say over that?
SOMEBODY is being "undemocratic," but it ain't us.
Stalin would be proud of you, Ron.
As such, there are more important considerations than whether you want LRT coming into your town or not.I defer to Confederate General Jubal Early, who wrote the following on a staff report he'd rejected once before that had been resubmitted:
"I already done told you "no" once: I ain't gonna tell you again."That YOU, Ron, happen to think we should not only have had zero say on EITHER the bridge OR the loot rail scam goes to a complete lack of understanding on your part as to how democracy works.
And in the interest of accuracy, what you SHOULD have written was:
Those shilling this scam should have realized that there are more important considerations than whether you want LRT shoved down the throats of Clark County or not... and you should agree to build the bridge WITHOUT ANY LOOT RAIL CAPABILITY WHATSOEVER if that's what it takes to make this happen.See, Ron, that YOU think we shouldn't have had any say really doesn't make it so... now does it?
This is not over and you can lie awake at night waiting to vent more regressive hate and thinking of ways to defeat this when it comes back next year. Think it won't? Think again. Meanwhile, seeth[sic] away. And what, exactly, are YOU doing if it isn't "seething?"
Oh... we know it will be back, Ronnie. And that's why anyone supporting this rip off here locally is likely to be DOA at the polls.
