Credit where due: Jaime Herrera's "no" vote on the debt ceiling increase.

I freely admit I despise our congressional representation.  I despise her democrat votes, the fact that her entire political career was handed to her on a platter without her breaking a sweat, no doubt resulting in her own personal believe that she's something special.

She isn't... at least not yet.

Herrera has repeatedly caved on and ignored true Republican principles, having repeatedly voted to increase the debt ceiling in the past, jacking us all on the sequestration scam, failing to hold town hall meetings and so on.

But she now has gained at least SOME situational awareness, and in this case, when she looks over her shoulder, there stands David Madore and his checkbook.

That said, her vote on the debt ceiling was dead on.  The "no" was called for.  Now, if she CONTINUES to vote this way, AND kills the CRC scam... then she can have this seat until she gets even more bored with it then she no doubt is now.

Political geniuses like Herrera don't like staying put all that much.  I wouldn't be surprised one wit if, at some point, she followed Linda Smith's foot steps to getting rolled in the US Senate race a few years from now.

Pride, of course, goes before a fall.

That said, I AM giving credit where due.  I remain an opponent to faux Republicanism of the variety she has practiced for the last 5 years, but I have some glimmer of hope that a Herrera-Madore race ... a race she would lose... won't be necessary.

Well done, Congresswoman.  Keep it up, and who knows?

You might actually become a Republican some day.
