Just the next in the series of sniveling "poor, government agency" articles the rag is going to pump out in the run up to and during the next legislative session, the democratian carries on the legacy of the late, unlamented Tommy the K who viewed the Gorge as his own personal fiefdom, Constitutional rights of the actual residents be damned.
Well, the least necessary, or the unnecessary agencies and government employees are feeling the heat.
And make no mistake about it: the Columbia River Gorge Commission is completely unecessary, an anachronism that has caused far more harm then good.
We have people allegedly dying because they allegedly can't get health care; we have a 30% drop out rate and an increasingly 3rd world education system; we have a massive joke for foreign policy and a moron Senate Majority Leader who would take floor time to babble about a football team instead of addressing the pressing needs of this Nation.
And what does the democratian choose to whine about today?
The Gorge Commission funding cuts... cuts that have just begun.
Calling the Gorge Commission a "vital" anything just reinforces the utter cluelessness running rampant in the leadership of the democratian (You listening, Brancaccio?) a VITAL agency is an agency that should it disappear or be severely curtailed, their absence or reduced presence would be noticeable or impact us all.
Had this group of Constitutional-trampling elitists never existed, we'd have never known the difference.
"Vital?" That's as moronic as believing the democratian is "vital," and that they can't be replaced by an iPad and an 8th grader.
Those demanding the most "protection" of the Gorge are not unlike the scum shilling for a new bridge and loot rail instead of an additional bridge across the River. They are the least likely to have to pay for it.
How easy it is to make OTHER people live under a Soviet style dictatorship. Moronic requirements like needing the Gorge Commission's permission to change the color of your house are restrictions that these Gorge Commission cheerleaders wouldn't dare live under themselves.
All of which begs the issue: do any of the Gorge Commissioners actually live in the Gorge? Is Don Bonker a Gorge resident, for example?
Of course not.
Their tyranny and hypocrisy is well known, just as the democratian's is well known.
Eliminate it altogether. No one outside the rag or downtown Portland will miss them. And we can use the money for something more worthwhile... like fixing roads and helping to pay the legal fees needed to get rid of government employee unions.
