Man robs store, then drops dead
A man who robbed an Everett AMPM shortly after midnight Friday apparently dropped dead a few blocks away from the store.
Police were called to the convienence store at 220 S.E. Everett Mall Way after the robbery suspect produced a note demanding money. He took an undisclosed amount of cash, then fled north on a bicycle.
Everett officers surrounded the area, and a dog tracked the robber. Police found the dead man a few blocks north of the store on Third Avenue Southeast.
The dead man matched the general description of the suspect, and a bicycle was near his body. Police did not give additional information about the man.
"It's not 100 percent confirmed that it's the guy, but that's the general assumption," Everett police Sgt. John DeRousse said.
Friday afternoon, officers were still reviewing store surveillance tape and waiting for information from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office.
