Every once in a while, a community is cursed with putting up with a bully. Bullies come in many guises, from the playground variety, through the boss or co-worker variety up through the newspaper variety.
John Laird is one such example, and we are not fortunate to have him here.
Unfortunately, in a sign of total cluelessness that has helped to lead the local fishwrapper down the road to ruin, this clown is given barrels of ink to sling his peculiar brand of poo around a community voting with their feet: people and their money are staying away from this rag in droves.
This moron leads off with this article headline: "Sacagawea would be ashamed of us"
Perhaps, but it would come no where close to the shame that we feel for Laird... and the shame that we feel for that increasingly worthless junk pile he works for.
That this individual is given anything more then a letter to the editor access in the newspaper is simply beyond me.
I don't want him silenced; after all, the First Amendment even extends to the privilege of making yourself out to be a blithering idiot, which Mr. Laird does on a weekly basis.
"Name-calling" is what passes for journalism in his neck of the woods, continuing on with the tradition of Koenninger. But Laird does it so badly and so senselessly, he engages in the hallmark of someone who is down right mean.
This week's babble, extolling the virtue of how tough he is, is a case in point. It's garbage, start to finish, and it is all too typical of the level of journalism this newspaper is reduced to.
When this rag folds, hopefully soon; Laird will not be missed.
