Clark Public Utilities failed to acquire the proper licensing and permits for its appliance repair service, and this week paid $20,000 for violating state law.
Clark admitted the violations in an agreement signed Wednesday with the state Department of Labor and Industries. The state agency investigated allegations that utility employees replaced water heaters and repaired appliances without the necessary building permits or up-to-date contractor licenses.
The agency cited the utility for 13 electrical violations and 10 plumbing violations.
