As reported on OregonLive.com, The Washington State Department of Transportation today announced it is caving to the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe and will be "walking away" from the dry dock project at Port Angeles. The issue? The state was too stupid to adequately survey the area in question BEFORE they started the project.
The result? They are abandoning this project... at a cost of $54 million dollars wasted.... vaporized.... up in thin air... gone in 60 seconds. Let's see.... how many nickels will we have to "work," just to break even on this deal? If you said "1,080,000,000," you'd be right. That is, we, the taxpayers, will have to burn almost 1.1 BILLION gallons of gasoline JUST TO BREAK EVEN ON THIS DEAL.
