NARAL represents the worst in the Leftist scum infesting the democrat party today.

I do not say this because of their issue advocacy. Every group or American in this country today may feel free to engage in issue advocacy as long as that advocacy does not provide aid and comfort to our enemies, such as Dick Durbin of Illinois efforts last month.

That said, I have no problem with NARAL, a democrat lackey group, shooting their mouths off against Judge Roberts.

What I have is a problem when these scumbags take the moveoff.org tact of completely lying in the process.

As outlined below, these skanks have deliberately and knowingly lied in their attack ads against Roberts.

God knows why or how these clowns actually believe their scumbag efforts will result in any upside. Roberts WILL be confirmed, absent a tape showing him molesting a girl scout troop. (Not that such a tape staring Bill Clinton would have made any difference to the Left)

CABLE CONTROVERSY: CNN AGREES TO AIR BLOODY ABORTION AD ON JUDGE ROBERTS

CNN has reviewed and agreed to run a controversial ad produced by a pro-abortion group that falsely accuses Supreme Court nominee John Roberts of filing legal papers supporting a convicted clinic bomber!

The news network has agreed to a $125,000 ad buy from NARAL, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned, for a commercial which depicts a bombed out 1998 Birmingham, AL abortion clinic.

The Birmingham clinic was bombed seven years after Roberts signed the legal briefing.

The linking of Roberts to "violent fringe groups" is the sharpest attack against the nominee thus far.

However, the non-partisan University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg Factcheck.org reviewed the NARAL ad and found it to be “false.”

Factcheck.org found "in words and images, the ad conveys the idea that Roberts took a legal position excusing bombing of abortion clinics, which is false."

The Republican National Committee is preparing to send a letter to television stations asking them to pull the spot, according to sources.

The RNC’s letter claims: "NARAL's ad is a deliberate misrepresentation of the facts that has no purpose but to mislead the American people."

Sometimes, the ignorance of young voters can be dangerous.

I rarely comment on letters-to-the-editor, but this one was so ignorant as to be frightening. This missive in the Columbian is a case in point.

Light rail spurs economy

Dale Swanson's Aug. 2 letter, "Idea to stabilize growth," to limit the number of commuters from Clark County to Portland is outrageous. What we need is to fund our public transportation system by voting "yes" in September. What we need is a light-rail system, not a third bridge. A park-and-ride and a light rail spanning I-5 to connect to the already existing system beginning at the Portland Expo Center would alleviate a lot of daily commuter traffic.

We also need to decongest Delta Park. I used to ride the bus daily to downtown Portland for both work and school and it was great. I wish there was a light-rail from Vancouver to Portland. Just look at the revolution of North Portland due to the Interstate line's success. Light-rail spurs economic growth in the areas it reaches. Not to mention in this fragile economy that the lack of good jobs in both Vancouver and Portland makes it even more difficult to suggest that people have such options as quitting their Portland jobs to work in Vancouver.

Vancouver-Portland is going to reach Seattle-like traffic if we don't institute a working and extensive public transportation system.

Ms. Dugan, a college student based on a cursory Net check, is, apparently unaware that Portland, ALREADY "BLESSED" WITH AN EXTENSIVE LIGHT RAIL SYSTEM, ALREADY RANKS BEHIND SEATTLE IN EVERY TRAFFIC STUDY AND SEATTLE DOESN'T HAVE ONE FOOT OF LIGHT RAIL IN OPERATION.

Scary, isn't it? This poor child is worried about our traffic problems actually IMPROVING to Seattle's level when they don't have one inch of light rail in operation.

Finally... 4 years too late.

The HOV lane stood as a monument to government waste and arrogance.

An "experiment" that caused dozens of accidents and tens of thousands of hours of time lost to commuters on their way to work every morning, the HOV lane cost $250,000 to set up and was the product of false figures generated and supported by several local government officials who SHOULD have known better.

They CALLED it an "experiment," but even though it never hit its targets, worsening an already terrible traffic situation, these clowns were incapable of admitting any wrongdoing. So the "experiment" went on... and on... and on... because Portland lackies like the mayor of "America's Vancouver" were afraid of offending his Portland masters.

This became yet another icon of an uncaring, nonresponsive government... not unlike a government with the monumental gall needed to sue its citizens into silence.

Instead of cussing the morning rush-hour drive from Vancouver to Portland, one Interstate 5 commuter toasted his trip to work Tuesday.

"Fabulous," said Brush Prairie resident Jim Teague.

While officials caution against rushing to conclusions, commuters are getting first impressions this week about the effect of opening the high-occupancy-vehicle lane through Vancouver to all traffic.

"It's really a positive, positive move to get the HOV lane out of there," said Teague, an insurance company executive. "The improvement in the traffic flow is evidence of the fallacy of the whole concept from the beginning."

The Washington Department of Transportation on Monday eliminated the car-pool lane between Northeast 99th Street and Mill Plain Boulevard, a 4-mile stretch that stopped just north of the Interstate 5 Bridge.

The move ended a four-year experiment in moving more people but fewer vehicles into Portland by giving car pools and mass transit an edge.

The Columbian blows it: In Our View - Perception Counts

I agree with the title. I’ve got some heartburn by the typically underhanded crap the Columbian all too frequently leaves out when they’re attacking a Republican.

The Cliff Notes version is that County Commissioner Marc Boldt will be voting on an expansion of the GMA boundaries. Included in one of the areas under consideration for expansion is his brother, Gary’s, dairy farm.

The Columbian, a rag frequently of the “ethically-challenged” ilk, is TERRIBLY concerned about the APPEARANCE of impropriety in such an earth-shaking decision as to whether, or if, Gary Boldt’s 80 acres are included in the expansion.

Folks, this is not a big deal. And, as even the Columbian admits, this does NOT represent ANY ethics or ethical violation.

Which, of course, begs the greater issue. If, as The Columbian admits, this is NOT an ethical violation… then why have they spent so much time and energy reporting it? Why was it worthy of yet another anti-Marc Boldt editorial?

Because the Columbian WANTS to change the very perception they allege they care so much about!

Marc has a spotless reputation of character and integrity.

So, what better way to call that integrity and character into question then to ACT like what Marc is planning on doing is wrong?

Face it, the Columbian opposes this expansion. Critically, it is important to understand that appointed Commissioner Steve Stuart ALSO opposes this effort… even though State Senator Craig Pridemore has pegged Stuart as a sellout.

So, if Marc were to take what amounts to Tom Koenninger’s advice, and to recuse himself from this vote, or even his brother’s portion of the vote, what the Columbian KNOWS would happen, but what they didn’t MENTION would happen (they have a history of selective quote use) is a tie vote. Morris a likely yes… Stuart a definite no.

And what does that mean?

In effect, it means that the Columbian is urging Boldt to arrange to keep his brother’s farm OUT of the boundary expansion… because a tie vote in the county commission means the motion is lost.

They don’t tell you that, though… do they?

Gee. I wonder why.

Clark County Commissioner Marc Boldt would break no state ethics rules if he were to vote on a revised urban growth boundary that would include 80 acres owned by his brother Gary.

A retired president of the Washington State Association of Counties, Gary Lowe, made that assertion in a story in Tuesday's Columbian, noting that if politicians are excluded from voting on issues that affect all of the politician's "relatives, all neighbors, all members of your church, pretty soon no one can take a vote."

That's true. Clearly, such self-exclusionary tactics can get out of hand and ultimately even interfere with an elected official's duties. The key here is full disclosure, and in these cases, as long the public knows about a politician's personal ties to issues, that kind of public knowledge usually is more crucial than any politician's decision whether or not to vote on such issues.

So, if Boldt votes, as far into the future as the fall of 2006, on a revised Clark County growth plan, and if his brother is to profit from such a decision by the county, then it appears the disclosure obligation will have been met.

When leftist scum infest the military.

It is both saddening and disturbing that an individual with the mindset and views of the ultra-leftist neo-comm scum that infest the left could possibly have made a successful career in the modern military environment of today.

I need to make it clear that LTC Fecteau's opposition to the President is not, in and of itself, reason enough that he should not have been a military success, which, by virtue of his rank, he inarguably was.

There are some in the military today who do not support or approve of our President. That, of course, is their privilege.

But for such a person to sink to the level of an ultra-leftist neo-communist scumbag... and for that person to feel compelled to deface the property of others to punish them for their support of someone he opposes... to cause others to suffer because of the typical leftist political intolerence and lack of freedom of political thought so well known as a hallmark of the Left... For that, there can be no excuse.

As a former Regular Army Officer, I can categorically state this: LTC Fecteau, should the facts of this matter be as stated, is a disgrace to the Uniform of the Armed Forces of the United States; that he should be Court-martialed, locked up and dishonorably discharged without benefits.

Some might see this as a harsh punishment. But we took an oath. We have a duty. And if LTC Fecteau found the policies or the leadership of this administration so distasteful that it would cause him to violate the rights of others that he is sworn to protect, violate his oath as an Air Force Officer, then he should have done the right thing... the honorable thing... and resigned.

There is no excuse for this… And he needs to pay the price.

9NEWS Investigative Reporter Chip Yost says an Air Force officer has been arrested on charges of vandalizing cars that displayed pro President Bush bumper stickers. 5 p.m. August 9, 2005.

DENVER - Denver police say a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force has admitted to vandalizing cars bearing pro-President Bush bumper stickers at Denver International Airport.

Police say he's responsible for thousands of dollars in damage on at least 12 cars. Lt. Colonel Alexis Fecteau, 42, of Colorado Springs, turned himself in to Denver police Friday.



He is director of reserve operations at the National Security Space Institute in Colorado Springs, in charge of more than 40 full-time and traditional reservists.

In the arrest affidavit, Denver police say Fecteau admitted to damaging several cars after police conducted a sting-operation to catch the anti-Bush vandal.

"It was pretty good police work," said Denver Police spokesman Sonny Jackson. He said his department took this case very seriously. "You still have a right to express yourself in this country and you shouldn't have your car vandalized because of it."

Jackson said one of the detectives put out a bait car in late June, complete with a Bush/Cheney 2004 bumper sticker, in the west economy lot at DIA. On July 1st, with a security camera zoomed in to watch, an SUV drove by the bait car, and a short time later a man entered the scene. The man in the video appeared to spray paint something on the back of the car and then continued to do something on the side of the car.

When officers returned to the bait car, the bumper sticker had been painted over and the words "F--- Bush" were spray-painted on the side of the car.
