The inanity of Ann Donnelly: a weekly column as campaign ad.

.
Ann Donnelly is the token Republican our local paper gives a platform to every now and then. She has done yeoman service to the GOP over the years, including a stint as chair back in the day.

Unfortunately, she has drifted leftward for quite some time... thus the justification the paper must have used to hire her as the token Republican in the sea of avowed leftists running the show.

So, it was not terribly surprising that she has joined the kool aid drinkers supporting SEIU activist Jaime Herrera.

What is a surprise was her use of her column as a not even thinly veiled campaign ad for Ridgefield Barbie, chock full of hyperbole and crap about the non-existent impact our local cardboard cutout of a state representative had when the democrats rolled us on getting rid of I-960 and then jacking our taxes up through the roof.

That Donnelly would stoop to such a moronic level is indicative of your basic Herrera supporter.

When asked why they would support someone of Herrera's ilk... someone who has lived here only 2 out of the last 13 years; someone who is proud of renting a house because she lacks the wherewithal to buy one, (and never planned on living here long anyway) someone who would ditch her constituents in mid-session to attend a lobbyist fund raiser in Washington, DC put on by her masters, McMorris and Gorton...

Someone who was obviously lying when she told the commissioners during the appointment process that "there is not a job in the world I would rather have." Herrera suppoorters typically have no answer.

Herrera only lacks the experience, the education, the character and the depth to be in Congress as anything but what she was: a minor-level staffer who even lied about that.

When the robo call went out from Castillo's campaign, accurately characterizing Herrera's malfeasance in office, Donnelly was among those who flipped. Many Herrera supporters, like Liz Mair, cobbled together loads of nonsense.

Keath Huff blew a gasket and ladled out a horrific load of crap. Calls were made by people who should have known better demanding to know the involvement of which people who had something to do with the call.

Well, between Herrera ditching her job of voting in favor of her fund raising calls and just plain ditching us altogether so she could bury her face up to her shoulders in the special interest trough held in place by her string pullers, something went wrong.

The loud and over the top response to the robo calls tells the story. Much like our resident whiny little punk's response to Wallace's allegations ("Deb has no credibility. She has no proof," hardly a denial.) and the failure of any of her colleagues to rush out to her defense (speak volumes, doesn't it?) shows that both Wallace's allegations and Castillo's robo calls have hurt HER badly, unlike the guck other bloggers have mentioned.

To use your column of alleged opinion to prop up a failing candidate by making outrageous and untrue connections between this political waste of skin and two of the giants of SW Washington political history... Williams and Smith... is simply beyond the pail.

In fact, it makes as much sense as comparing a Volkswagen bug with a turbocharged Ferrari.

It is, in fact, a despicable use of a column to shill for a candidate who has achieved a cult-like stature among some... people like Donnelly blindly supporting her but lacking any justification for that support when Herrera is compared to almost any of the other candidates running from either party, the majority of which having vastly more experience, judgment and actual time living in the district.

Herrera's campaign has taken on the stench of desperation. And Donnelly's middle-school effort to make Herrera shine just serves to re-enforce that smell.

You know, I wondered why Ann Donnelly's column on the mayor's race was a campaign ad for Tim "The Liar" Leavitt...

.
And now I know. Donnelly is helping to fund Leavitt's campaign, and she used her column to shill for this clown. Ann Donnelly and her husband gave Leavitt $150 on the 20th of October.

Now, I get that the Columbian can hardly be called the most ethical publication in existence. In fact, I have occasionally proffered that their propaganda on occasion, particularly about their agenda like the I-5 Bridge, loot rail, and initiatives they oppose would have made Nazi Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels blush.

But this is simply beyond the pail. It is one thing to take an advocacy position as a result of analysis and information.

It's another thing all together to give that candidate money after you've given him thousands in in-kind contributions under the guise of political commentary.

I'll just chalk this up as yet another reason why I've left the GOP: a former county chair engaging in questionably ethical political behavior by using her position to further her own agenda... instead of the agenda of the people.

Ann Donnelly had a great column today in support of Tim "The Liar" Leavitt, except for one thing:

.
She blew it when she characterized Leavitt as being opposed to tolls.

When Tim "The Liar" Leavitt says, on one hand, that he allegedly opposes tolls, but then says he won't oppose the bridge iif tolls are are "must have," then what he's REALLY saying is that he DOESN'T oppose tolls.

You see, Ann, if he REALLY opposed tolls, then he would make that a binding condition of his support for the bridge. As in:
Mayoral candidate Tim Leavitt and city council candidates Jeanne Stewart (an incumbent) and Bill Turlay (running against Jack Burkman for an open seat) oppose bridge tolls, while Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire, Congressman Brian Baird, Portland Mayor Sam Adams, and Vancouver Mayor Royce Pollard tell us tolls are inevitable.
I must admit to some level of disappointment on Dr. Donnelly's part. As a former chair of the County Republican Party, I would have thought she would have been somewhat less gullible, and somewhat more attuned to "the Liar's" toll scam.

Tim "The Liar" Leavitt has been attempting to lull people into actually believing his garbage about opposing tolls. It is something of a disappointment that Ann Donnelly would actually fall for it.

The liar has made it clear he doesn't oppose tolls. What he's trying to do, and apparently succeeding a small amount with those not paying attention, is to get people to BELIEVE he opposes tolls.

The problem with that is more then just rhetoric.

Tim "The Liar" Leavitt does NOT oppose tolls if he will NOT oppose a bridge that has them.

And he won't do that. What he moronically calls "obstructionist," the rest of us call "standing up for principle."

Of course, to stand up for them, you have to have them. And this whiny, sniveling punk wouldn't know character and integrity if they walked up and bit him in the ass.

While I agree with much of Donnelly's analysis of the bridge tolling situation, I simply cannot believe she's allowed herself to get sucked in by The Liar's casket-salesman persona.

There are two candidates running for mayor. Only one of them is lying about tolls if this bridge is to get built.

It's unfortunate that Ms. Donnelly seems incapable of figuring out which one.

Destroying trust in government: Jon Russell's Blog

.
I hate political corruption. I hate it when the left tries it, as The Empty Suit has practiced it since he swindled us into voting for him.

I hate it when the right tries it, like Jon Russell, congressional candidate, is trying it now.

Jon passes himself off as some kind of conservative. But it's all for show.

One must not be judged by what they say or write when they're running for office. To find out the truth, one must review what one has done when he or she wasn't a candidate. And Russell is no exception.

Russell is no more a conservative than he is a brain surgeon. The fact of the matter is that I know a lot about Mr. Russell. And over the next several months, more and more will be provided on this blog, so you, too, will get to know Mr. Russell like I do.

And here's a disclaimer.

I do not work for any campaign. I am not writing this because anyone has told me to do so. I am not being paid, promised, threatened or coerced in any way. I just happen to know Mr. Russell and I don't like what I see. That said:

Today's tidbit?

We had a Port Levy election not too long ago back, when the Port Commissioners arrogantly attempted to ram a huge tax increase down our collective throats for money that, ultimately, they didn't need. The campaign was a miserable failure, losing in the vicinity of 70% "no" to 30% "yes."

Who was the political genius that ran that effort? Who was paid to do everything he could to ram through one of the largest tax increases in local history? Who was so politically inept and incompetent that the results will live on as one of the worst political massacres in local history?

Why, that would be one Jon Russell.

Russell has a history of political mercenary-ism. By running this unneeded and unwanted tax increase campaign, Russell has shown that, in the words of Charles Barkley, "If the money was right, I'd play for the Klan."

We've already GOT a cowardman that has sold out for campaign donations with huge earmarks.

Why we want to elect another one?

Ann Donnelly felt compelled to press release Russell in a recent column wherein she writes as the Columbian's token Republican (though certainly not a conservative... she's delusional enough to support the I-5 Bridge Replacement/Loot Rail scam) and Russell felt compelled to cut and paste it on to his blog... as if all of those words actually meant something.

They didn't.

We'll chat again.

The Columbian's pet RINO: Ann Donnelly.

.
The Columbian in some apparent effort to show some level of political balance, has apparently signed Ann Donnelly to a regular weekly gig. Her latest column, extolling the virtues of "No Choice Royce" Pollard combined with her abysmal showing at re-org in her abortive attempt to become Clark County's Republican Committee Woman confirms precisely how out of touch with the Republican Party she actually is.

And that, of course, is precisely the way the Columbian wants it.

Royce Pollard is an arrogant, self-centered, unresponsive and uncaring elected official, completely co-opted by the downtown Mafia.

And based on this column, the same might be said of Ms. Donnelly.

NO elected official should EVER fear the will of the people they would govern. Yet Pollard, and his erstwhile snapshot of an opponent, Tim Leavitt, both fear that will.

And Donnelly is OK with that.

"Pollard's potential Achilles Heel is the transportation issue," Donnelly tells us. "Vancouver urgently needs a new I-5 bridge — its frequent traffic tie-ups pose a serious safety threat — but light rail to Clark College and financing with bridge tolls are controversial. Pollard, never one to equivocate, has taken stands that will ignite controversy with fiscal conservatives."

When Donnelly says that "Vancouver urgently needs a new I-5 Bridge," that's a two part lie.

The first part of the lie is that Vancouver needs this bridge replaced. In reality, no one needs this multi-billion dollar waste of money; Don Wagner, Region Six DOT guru has said as much.

The second part of the lie is that the "frequent traffic tie-ups pose a serious safety threat." There is absolutely nothing to back up that assertion; there is absolutely nothing to justify this massive waste of money to address that issue since the experts have determined that, within a short time after it's completion, congestion levels will again begin to climb.

In short, the trouble is not that we need THIS bridge replaced, because replacing this bridge will do absolutely nothing to address Donnelly's phantom safety concern.

The problem is that we need ADDITIONAL bridges. But no dyed-in-the-wool core member of the downtown mafia will ever admit that... or admit that the people should determine if we want 10's of millions taken out of our economy every year to pay off the union thugs that will build this massive waste... as well as serving to finance democrat political campaigns, keeping the vicious cycle in motion.

Pollard is in large part responsible for the Nazi-like takeover of Cascade Park; the lawsuit against the people to twice silence them on the issue of downtown redevelopment, and his moronic "if you don't like it, leave" approach to government as if WE were here to serve HIM.

The problem, as I said, is that Leavitt is no better. Unfortunately for the people, no real Republican or anything but a mainstream(that is, faux Republican) is allowed to have a column... in this case, because Donnelly shares the propaganda and agenda of this newspaper on the bridge.

And that is too bad for us all.... except for the rag that hired her.
