How bad are leftist controlled cities?

Bad enough that CNN's Fareed Zakaria indicted democrats as his snap shot/indictment of the left shows Washington State OUR future as every allegation he makes against fringe-left-controlled cities also represents an indictment against fringe-left controlled states.

As leftist scum in Olympia continue taxing us into oblivion with their progressive train wreck economics, the fiscal insanity of the left will damage/destroy every corner of our state.

And they don't care, because they'll do it with a smile, all in the name of their phantom "equity."

 

Washington’s democrat-controlled government proves what we’ve known all along: They don't care about a Constitution

For anyone paying attention, we all know three things:

1. Washington does not have an income tax, which is forbidden by this state’s Constitution, without a vote of the people (required to amend this state’s Constitution.)

2. Leftists in this state have lusted for an income tax for decades, comparable with Bill Clinton’s lust for interns, and their demands will result in the same outcome: the people of this state getting screwed.

3. They call this the millionaire income tax… but we all know that limit is only temporary and, sooner or later, that floor will be reduced to nothing and we’ll ALL have to face an unconstitutional state income tax, forced on us by a leftist legislature that views this state’s Constitution as their own, personal roll of toilet paper, mirroring their fellow fringe-left deities at the federal level.

The democrats running this state’s government run the gamut from scum enabling child kidnapping and gender mutilation, to the thug running the Senate who shares the muslim view that children should be used for sex. (Yeah, I’m talking about you, democrat majority leader Senator Jamie Pedersen.)

“Kids over 13 have the complete right to make their own decisions about their mental health care. Parents don’t have a right to have notice, they don’t have a right to have consent about that.”

“If they’re old enough to get pregnant, they’re old enough to make their own decisions about what happens with their bodies, and parents do not have the right to change that.”

Any political party’s politicians that support these and other far-left extreme views concerning children without any effort to remove the source of that nazi mentality isn’t going to be constrained by a paltry Constitution… either at the national, or the local level.

The elected scum controlling state government have proven their disdain for the constituency of this state. Everything from electing a convicted felon to the House (merely drugs, theft and firearm convictions - Tarra Simmons, D-23)) to trashing the citizen-approved Parental Bill of Rights, passed by the voters of this state in 2024; they show a total contempt for those they would govern.

Their latest effort?

To ram an (10 time rejected at the polls) income tax down our throats WITHOUT THE VOTE REQUIRED BY THE STATE CONSTITUTION.

Why no vote? The same reason we are not allowed by these same leftists to have a voice in anything on their agenda at either the state or local level: they hate the idea of the people, which the state Constitution falsely claims hold all political power saying "no.":

They do not give a rat’s ass about our rights. If they did?

They wouldn’t be pissing on this state’s Constitution to ram this tax through, and lie about it.

The leftists are engaging in class warfare, by starting with a millionaire income tax (it’s claimed) that will, when it fails to result in their avaricious revenue demands being met as millionaires (including pro-athletes… Seahawks, anyone?) get out of Dodge to avoid these horrific taxes resulting from the leftist inability to control their spending.

This state does not have a revenue problem. In fact, just last year, these same scum jacked up our taxes what… $12 billion?

But even THAT isn’t enough.

The ONLY reason they want this income tax is for achieving the leftist dream of actual income-redistribution.

Stalin would be proud.

They are provably incapable of reducing spending to levels within a budget. So, they load up this state's budget like yet another Christmas tree and then suddenly claim they're not getting nearly enough blood out of the rock they're squeezing.... so, voila!

Counting on a fringe-left Supreme Court to make up the required excuses to bypass black and white ink on a piece of paper to allow this abuse of that document... and the people of this state.

Meanwhile, yes, this is yet another proof that the left doesn’t care. They don’t care about us. They don’t care about children (So, has Pedersen been having sex with the children he believes can form their own judgment? Will his next move be to get rid of this state’s confusing, but present statutory rape laws?)

I frequently say:

“They (we) have the government we deserve.”

But in cases where the party in charge is running roughshod over this State’s Constitution as if it was their own personal roll of toilet paper?

I’m willing to make an exception.

No one deserves a provably criminal government.

And no one is above the law.

Unless, of course, they’re illegal aliens, convicted democrats they elect, or state senators with a child sex fetish.

Then?

All bets are off.

The tariff issue: how did we get here?

The problem isn't the tariffs per se'. The problem is that, essentially, the Court indicated money was wrongfully taken under IEEPA and, the US now finds itself in a position that all of that money resulting from that application will have to be refunded.

No, the Court didn't say that. But if money was, effectively, taken from any of us, what would we do to recover that money?

My guess is by the end of next week, hundreds, if not more, of lawsuits will be filed to get that money back, which will have to be repaid, not to mention legal fees and interest.

Further, my question, unanswered, is if this solution is so easy, then why didn't the President use those laws instead of the IEEPA which does not have the word "tariff" anywhere in it?

Not to mention, where was all that high-priced legal talent when it came to finding ways to implement tariffs? Did ANY of them foresee this outcome? If they didn't, why didn't they? If they did, did they say anything to Trump about it? If not, why not?

Did the President ignore those warnings? Did he even see or hear them?

The devil is in the details, as this decision clearly shows.

But I seriously doubt it's as simple as many claim.

I would hope it is... but if it was all that simple, then why use an authority that was iffy at best to begin with?

Probable political fall-out over Trump’s Supreme Court tariff defeat

As a retired political consultant, I do, occasionally, prognosticate on Trumpian political portraits.

I predicted early on, for example, that Trump would defeat Hillary in 2016 when no one I could find or read agreed with that assessment.

The Supreme Court decision is/will be a major hit on the President. Essentially one of his main platform planks, his reliance on the unlawful application of a Federal law (International Emergency Economic Powers Act, known as IEEPA) will cost, initially, somewhere in the vicinity of $175 billion to, most likely, be required to be returned to the countries/companies which paid the money in question.

Trump, for his part, claims he has work arounds to, effectively, bypass the Supreme Court. Those options, however, seem dramatically more limited than what he had been doing before.

It has to be kept in mind that while this will be a major hit to the revenue tariffs were bringing in (roughly $30 billion monthly), This decision does not eliminate all tariffs, just those implemented citing IEEPA those implemented citing IEEPA.

IEEPA tariffs represent about 55% of all current tariffs collected in FY 2025.




It is essentially impossible for the US to keep these funds as a result of the USSC declaring the collection of this money to have been unconstitutional

It will take some time, of course, to unwind the clock of this portion of tariffs, but the sources of the payments themselves will not be difficult to determine.

Further, there is a probability that the payments themselves will have to be returned with some level of interest added to the costs, along with the legal fees/costs/expenses incurred by the prevailing parties.

Which sets the table for the current snapshot.

But what of the actual political fallout? What impacts will this cause in the midterms?

Recently, the left, which lacks in most political areas of interest, had been hoisted on their own petards of supporting illegal aliens, to include murderers, rapists, robbers and the like; by funding the protests as well as the bail demands for many illegals arrested for criminal acts, particularly in the fringe left cities such as New York, LA and Portland.

ICE detainers are frequently ignored. Murders, rapes, robberies and assaults have resulted. Many illegals are simply let go, back our on the streets to continue their crimes.

So-called “sanctuary cities” urge fellow leftists to riot and engage in various types of violence and obstruction in an effort to end or reduce ICE and related law enforcement agencies from fulfilling their sworn duty to apprehend and deport the illegals infesting us.

Out of control spending and massive, business-crushing tax increases have resulted in more and more businesses closing down and/or leaving these states. Portland’s downtown finds the value of many of their high rises sinking lower than yet another Willamette River sewage spill, with massive vacancy rates and a 70% devaluation in value.

They continue to stay in lockstep with their insane positions on fake females competing against the real thing and free entering women’s rest room and locker room facilities. They find themselves seemingly unable to even define what a woman actually is.

They continue their opposition to a requirement to prove American citizenship to vote in our elections, even though members of Congress are required to use picture voter ID to vote on legislation… and even though CNN polling indicates that 71% of democrats support voter ID.

Their insistence of sticking with the wrong end of these and other 80/20 equations made it increasingly likely that there would be little to no leftist resurgence in the mid-terms.

Until now.

NOW, they have been handled a legitimate issue reinforcing their oft-stated perspective that Trump refuses to obey the laws governing this country.  They will now begin a slightly different approach, wherein they rightfully CAN call his judgment into question, given his overwhelming defeat on the tariff issue.

Also, they can apply that test to anything he does, question his decisions on anything (since, even if Trump cured cancer, they'd complain about the shape and numbers of test tubes he used in the process.) and this time, have some legitimate reasoning for their positions.

In my decades of political work, there’s an axiom that has repeatedly proven true:

"If you’re ‘explaining?’ You’re losing.”

This defeat blew up the news cycle like a small nuclear warhead.

On this issue, it IS difficult to avoid the “how could he do this” question.

How is it possible that none of the legal talent he has didn’t question the legality of using a law that lacks any mention of the word “tariff” in it?

If they didn’t mention it, they should be fired.

If they DID mention it and he ignored them?

This crushing, 6-3 defeat. where even the alleged conservative members of the Court tossed him under a bus, is legitimate fodder for campaign commercials and the blame-game.

ALL politicians count on the notoriously short memories of the voters. Right this moment, most GOP pols are praying for that short memory with the onset of the midterms. Meanwhile, it’s a bet that leftists are not already writing the commercials they run wherein they call into discussion the President's judgment as well as the judgment of those who had supported Mr. Trump’s efforts.

But now, GOP incumbents out in the field are likely to find themselves on the receiving end of questions they do not want to be asked.

And will likely have a very difficult time answering.

Does this make the midterm flip more likely? Maybe. It certainly doesn’t help.

A competent ad campaign makes that more likely.

In my experience, the GOP has been “not bad” in getting power.

But they have a terrible time keeping it. Typically, as a result of their own failures, such as Majority Leader Thune failing to take action on the SAVE Act

And one of their major pitches just took a very solid, very bad hit.

Clark County is going to learn a horrific lesson on loot rail.

For readers not keeping up with the Sound Transit light rail insanity, a brief history:

Exclusive of the fact that Seattle's freeway congestion is among the worst in the entire country after wasting billions on loot rail as it is, (as is Portland's) nine years ago, without reading the fine print on HOW they were going to pay for it (massive increases in tab fees, mainly) voters in the Sound Transit district, apparently overcome by fentanyl smoke, voted to hand the district $54 billion for a promised expansion of 62 miles.

Not long ago, the Mafia chieftain running Sound Transit, former King County Executive Dow "I never met a tax increase I didn't love" Constantine came out publicly and finally spoke the heretofore obvious and well known, but never mentioned, truth.

An additional amount of money was going to be needed to complete the promised expansion project... as much as $30 billion more.

And how do they intend to do it?

At this point, the plan is to jack up a 1% property tax increase... with an actual result of a 3.8% increase, even though they're limited to 1%.

Having used the camel's-nose-under-the-tent-flap approach to get this rip off passed by the voters... this time, there will be no vote.

Governments typically don't seek voter approval for any tax increase for fear of voters saying "no."

Now, unlike the loot rail scam being rammed down our throats here locally, Sound Transit at least asked initially. No one is asking us if we want this insanity.

The reason I mention the Sound Transit debacle is simple.

THAT will be the blueprint for how we get screwed here.

WHATEVER number the scum running the IBR ultimately come up with?

Don't believe it.

There WILL be massive budget shortfalls for this scam, as even now, Oregon has loaded that garbage up like a Christmas Tree, major improvements such as new cars they'll be running through THEIR system, paid for by mainly the tolls Washington residents have to shell out to go to work and then return.

And when those shortfalls hit?

Guess who's going to pay for it? And how?

Sound Transit is showing us. $14 billion or $17 billion for the cross river, loot rail scam or whatever the final number they claim may be?

Don't believe it.

And even now, if you do the math?

Including the most recent cost scams for light rail in Seattle?

The idiots who voted for THEIR rip off are now being shown the INTERIM true cost of this expansion.
Expect that number to continue to skyrocket.

Divide 62 miles into $54 billion. That figure will get you the cost per mile promised to get that scam approved by the voters. In short, the promised cost even then was $871 million per mile.

Add the possible $30 billion to that number, billions voters will have zero say over, and what do you get? $1.355 billion. (a number that will go much high than even the $30 billion)

Per mile.

And we all already know that getting the deadly fungus of Portland loot rail across the river is just phase one. After that, the leftists will start demanding expansion in Clark County for a system we do not want, do not need and cannot afford.

And they will do their best to expand that scam without asking us. Or if they DO ask us?

They'll use the Washington State Supreme Court method of lying to get initial approval while they dramatically understate the costs; only to, again, like Sound Transit is now, jack up the costs later and force us to pay the increases.

Speaking of loot rail Sound Transit and our own bridge replacement around here...

By now, most reading this are aware that 1. The voters of the Sound Transit district screwed themselves by voting FOR a $54 billion bond to extend the current worthless insanity of the loot rail system that now needs a 62-mile extension... which is what the initial 62-mile extension promised, and

2. It turns out NOW that Sound Transit admits to a likely shortfall of as much as a paltry additional $40 billion more to accomplished what they stupidly promised for $54 billion a mere 9 years ago.
Which around here locally reflects the lies we've been told for a decade about what the I-5 loot rail project/bridge replacement scam is supposed to cost, a number now projected to be as much as $17 billion, more than doubling the costs of this unneeded, unwanted and unaffordable rip-off designed to infest Clark County with the repeatedly-rejected-by-voters light rail rip off.

But I digress.

On November 9, 2016, I wrote the following when I discovered the nimrods in the Sound Transit area voted for that insanity.

Weird, isn't it? I'm just a local yokel nobody. How did *I* know what the politicians supporting this stupidity apparently, did NOT know?

Does ANYONE believe that once this insane waste of money begins construction, that whatever lie of a number they actually come up with to pay for this insane project will not any closer to the promised number than Sound Transit as a percentage of the promised cost?

Which causes one to ponder: if you make financial decisions on information provided by an alleged "trustworthy source," i.e. government; and the end result is you lose billions of dollars, I would venture to say the campaign of lies used to gain approval for that funding is a great deal more than "unpleasant speech."

In fact... I would venture to say that such a result would be outright fraud.

Candidates and government at all levels rightfully viewed that decision an INVITATION to lie, cheat, or exaggerate, or all 3.

After all, the Supreme Court of this state TOLD them it was OK and there's no accountability.

And under those conditions?

Why wouldn't they?

Is it time to stop listening to the talking heads?

One of the reasons I stopped listening to talking heads of either side is the last thing I need is to be told what to think.

Back in 2016, I remember all the talking heads telling us Trump was going to get flattened in the election against Hillary.

99% of the talking heads were wrong about that.

Months before the election, I had concluded Trump would win.

So, on election night, I'm sitting there, watching TV coverage as they were proven wrong and I asked myself: why do I listen to any of these people since I obviously knew more than any of them?

I don't care what The View thinks. I don't care what Sean Hannity thinks. I don't care what CNN says. I don't care what FOXNews says. I don't watch any of them.

And I certainly don't care what Tucker Carlson says.

Maybe.... just maybe... it's time to throw off the yoke of programming... being told what to think, when and how to think it, and what to do about it.

Stop being lazy. Do the heavy lifting.

Think for yourselves.

Try it sometimes. I know it can be hard. I know, particularly in this AI era that you don't know what to believe, that even your own eyes can betray you.

But being told what to think/believe by others who are only concerned about their own agenda has led to the most divided country since 1865.

It is time to stop the insanity. And for those who understandably claim some version of dislike for politics, let me leave you with this somewhat modified axiom:

"You may not be interested in politics.... But politics is most definitely interested in you."

I oppose the expansion of VA benefits bill, HR 6047: the devil is in the details.

Weeellll…. I knew this was going to happen.

I am steadfastly opposed to the latest expansion of veteran’s benefits, aka HR 6047.

Even though it’s a Republican bill, I agree with the democrats who voted in opposition to it in committee.

Why?

Because the devil is in the details.

A lot of veterans were excited over expansion of the VA bill to include personnel who had not set foot in Vietnam to become eligible for Agent Orange benefits if they had, for example, come into contact with it as a part of their job outside Vietnam proper, this is typically called expanding the Agent Orange coverage and benefits to the “Blue Water Navy”

For example, personnel on aircraft carriers where missions were flown over Vietnam.

When aircraft returned, they’d frequently be covered in Agent Orange dust… dust the deck crews would clean off the planes.

The contact would be the same. The cancers would be the same. The birth defects would be the same. Even though they may have never physically set foot in-country.

As a retired Veterans Service Officer who worked to get vets connected to VA benefits, I knew that expansion was necessary. And I was for it, until…

Then, a few years later, along came the Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act of 2025

This act was mainly aimed at increasing, improving educational opportunities and scope of educational opportunities for veterans and their families in areas of assistance, housing benefits, inclusion of trade schools like CDL schools and the like, again a worthwhile expansion which I again supported, until…

And now, we’re confronted with yet ANOTHER expansion of VA benefits, H.R.6047, officially named the Sharri Briley and Eric Edmundson Veterans Benefits Expansion Act, Which expands benefits for “catastrophically” disabled veterans their families and survivors. The bill increases in financial support for benefits that have not been increased “significantly” in decades, including a $10,000 per year increase for those receiving “special military compensation,” again a laudable goal, well deserved and one I could support until…

All three of these efforts, which the sponsors and supporters, including, naturally, the major veteran’s organizations such as the VFW, the Vietnam Veterans of America and the like all support, will set about to brag about their lobbying efforts to make this bill happen.

On the surface, these bills are easy to support. But when the Representatives go home and start bragging about these efforts, there’s one element you can bet they won't be bragging about:

How it’s paid for.

What all THREE of these bills have in common is that these increases will be paid for by veterans and veterans alone.

HR 6047 is funded by eliminating the VA home loan funding fee exemption for disabled veterans with ratings of 70% or below when they use their VA loan benefit for a second or subsequent home purchase. This change is intended to cover the estimated $10 billion cost of increasing benefits for severely disabled veterans and their survivors over the next decade.

The same veterans groups that sold us out on the expansion of Agent Orange benefits bill and The Dole VA Improvement Act are also selling us out on this bill.

Until now, if you had a service-connected disability or any kind, you were exempt from a substantial amount of the VA loan fees. For those veterans without disabilities, those fees were increased to cover the cost of the Agent Orange Expansion Bill, with a sunset clause of 2031.

When the Dole Bill passed, the sunset was extended to 2034.

And now, with this bill, even if you have substantial disabilities equal to 70%, you get no discount at all.

I’m not the brightest bulb on the tree but I am detecting a pattern here.

Now, at the outset, these bills do not impact me in the least.

Yet.

But they WILL impact millions of new veterans trying to get home loans in an increasingly out of control housing market cost, making it even LESS affordable for the veterans we have now and those following along behind us.

If these bills have merit, and it would seem that they do… then why are ONLY VETERANS PAYING FOR IT???

Why are we sending billions to foreign countries like Ukraine and Israel for their militaries… but we have to nickel and dime our veterans here?

As merited as these bills are, I did not support the first two and will not support this one if veterans are forced to bear the burden of the costs of these expansions.

Veterans are veterans. And now, this is becoming a dual class of veteran (until they eliminate any veteran housing benefit altogether to pay for some other bright idea fairy debacle) where there are the haves and have nots.

This is not fair. It is not just. It is not right.

Veterans should not be forced to pay for benefits that should be the responsibility of the entire taxpaying public we died or were injured defending.

I knew after the Agent Orange expansion that they would keep coming back to this convenient well to rip off veterans for benefits the general fund should be paying for. And it saddens me I was right.

BOTH sides of the aisle should know better, not just the democrats who opposed this bill in committee.

Find some other way to pay for it or don’t do it at all, because eventually, you’ll run out of benefits to take away to pay for these new programs.

Newspapers believe we have to give them taxpayer money. Conflict of interest, anyione?

The Seattle Times, which is to political fairness what concrete is to cottage cheese, is demanding a bail out of state taxpayer dollars... of $24 million.... to start... but we all know, of course, that number will climb higher and faster as long as they continue to play ball with those in the legislature cutting the checks. .

How could it not?

Such a bill would cement the obvious fringe-left bias of most every newspaper in the state.

How is it REMOTELY possible to continue the charade of impartiality the media is SUPPOSED to have (but which we all know, have long since given up even the APPEARENCE of in either their articles or their editorials) when those they cover are cutting 8 figure checks to buy their cooperative coverage?

Wasn't it democrat Lyndon Johnson who once famously said that, "...down in Texas, once we buy a politician, he stays bought?"

And these news outlets supposed to benefit from this corruption would be any different?

It isn't. This is nothing but progressive advertising, paid for by OUR money, cash on the barrel head, under the guise of news.

Leftist bias in this state's major media is both well-known and undeniable. This is a guarantee it will stay this way.
How can any media outlet accept taxpayer money without supporting those who gave them the cash?

These scum want taxpayer money to continue to pump out leftist propaganda at taxpayer expense!

And this Seattle Times article expects us to go along with it?

What other business get taxpayer money to stay in business in this state? Bakeries? Car washes? Grocery stores? What?

Why is it OK for leftist propaganda organs but no one else?

We don't need biased local news in this state. We have enough of this garbage as is, and the costs to buy their products are OBSCENE.

Keep an eye on SB5400, the buy local media with taxpayer money bill.

If you can't compete with other news sources, then close down. If you have to shut down because you can't steal our money to run your "for profit" democrat PR arm?

You won't be missed. And proof of that is how have we survived without the Seattle Post Intelligencer, which went under several years ago, save for a website? Not only NO, but HELL no. Not a penny. This is NOT why we pay taxes to the Washington Soviet, and they waste enough of our money as is.

Washington schools continue to fail us.

I despise public schooling controlled by leftists who are working, deliberately or inadvertently, to destroy our country. 

In the 19-20 school years, Washington state reached a high of 1,103,173 students enrolled.  According to the latest OSPI figures, even though our population has increased from 7,546,400 in 2019 to 8,159,900, that number has dropped significantly to 1,096,285.

So, while the state has gained over 600,000 residents, the number of students over that same time period has decreased instead of increasing to reflect our population growth.

Here, for example, is the statistical summary of Washington State Public Schools, according to the state, leftist controlled Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction, before his new grading system to cook the books in an effort to literally slather lipstick on an absolutely unacceptable pig known as the public school system in the state of Washington:

Note the "highlights," or the lowlights, as it were, of this report that the fringe-left OSPI generated, just before the school year started in September of 2022..

48% are at grade level in English.

30% in math. 46% in science.

17% drop-out rate

16 student average classroom size.

20% don't bother to show up at all.

Now, after OSPI changed the reporting criteria to make school academic outcomes LOOK better, here are the results OSPI wants us to believe:

3 school years later, the number of children showing up for class has collapsed, from a despicable 80% to a horrific 73%.

That means that we have a typical rate of 27% of children in this state blowing off school.

How is it possible for 27% of kids to skip school, but still have an 83% graduation rate?

And yet, somehow, even though the number of kids actually bothering to show up for school has almost ended the need for schooling that children obviously see as worthless, somehow, in the face, of kids NOT SHOWING UP?

The GRADUATION RATE INCREASED?

How is that even possible?

Meanwhile, the actual Superintendent rails against districts implementing the President's Executive Order to keep boys out of both girl's locker rooms/bathrooms and sports.

All while we're punching out semi-literate cretins and academics continue to suffer at absolutely unacceptable outcomes.

Unfortunately, I can't just blame OSPI for this obvious systemic educational incompetence.

PARENTS have a role to play in this nightmare.

That parents either don't seem to know... or care... that political inculcation far exceeds academics in importance in Washington schools as shown by recent school/district-sponsored fringe-left progressive school organized walkouts/riots over ICE enforcement in this country. These outcomes are to be expected when both school boards and teachers are not held accountable for the horrific jobs their doing.

But parents... who drive change... are failing their children by accepting mediocre-at-best outcomes from overpaid prima donna brain-washing leftists masquerading as teachers... and our kids suffer as a result.

I don't get state and local political scum attempting to control federal law enforcement. Are they brain damaged? Are they on drugs? Is it all kabuki theater as they attempt to convince their fellow fringe-left nutjobs that they're actually doing something? Racist Boston Mayor Michele Wu, among others, have signed utterly laughable and completely, legally, indefensible orders that they want to believe will somehow hinder ICE, et al, from performing their assigned mission, the mission that was a major factor in the president's successful election. Why do they even bother?

Look, we get that the left operates on hatred. Obama deported many more, for example... separated families by the thousands... built those cages leftist scum tried to blame Trump for... all without riot one.

We get that to be a leftist requires one to be both a hypocrite AND a racist.

But even the furthest fringe of the left knows there's nothing state or local governments can do. Obama proved it when he successfully stopped Arizona from enforcing state immigration laws.

Walkouts and Leaving Campus: Schools can punish students for leaving class or campus without permission, even if the reason is a protest, as it constitutes a safety risk and a disruption to the school day.

Discipline: Schools can apply neutral policies—like truancy, Saturday detention, or suspending students for missing class—regardless of the protest's message, according to this article from Hays Consolidated Independent School District and ACLU of New Hampshire.

In summary, the First Amendment protects the right to express views, but it does not protect leaving campus or cutting class without authorization.

Students can protest all they like, wherever they like, as long as staff is not involved AND as long as it isn't during the school day.

If it's during the school day, staff CANNOT legally be involved , students cannot leave campus without parental permission and no ON campus activity cannot "disrupt the school day."

So whining about the Constitution which has nothing to do with any of this doesn't move the fringe-left ball forward..

WHY are leftist politicians so adamant about killing the SAVE ACT

Leftists opposed to the SAVE Act are once again literally on the wrong end of yet another 80/20 issue.

As far back as October 2024, 83% of American voters support the core tenet of that legislation. The few democrats voting for that act have been savaged by their hard-core, fringe-left base, treating that obvious requirement (that voting be limited to American citizens and requiring proof of citizenship to register) like the rioting scum in Portland treat the ICE facility.

Democrat supporters of this legislation, which, to be bluntly honest, DOES include our congresswoman, are verbally beaten to a pulp by the fringe-left of their own party.

They remind silent in the face of the massive, bipartisan support for this legislation across the voting spectrum of this country.

In the face of fringe opposition, one must ponder... why?

WHY do they oppose this obviously needed legislation? In fact, that opposition lends itself to outright justification to PASS it.

This situation is reminiscent of the 2020 election debacle. Georgia has recently been in the spotlight for their electoral incompetence in that election... which begs the issue: why were leftists so terrified of investigations?

They did everything they could, everywhere they could, to stop any investigation of any kind. Lawsuits, TV whining, demands to end it.... but why?

Imagine the political difference the world would face today had they agreed to the total transparency demanded by the GOP?

There were only two possible outcomes: had the democrats agreed, participated fully, encouraged the states and people involved to be totally forthcoming and the investigation revealed...

Nothing.

Or, the second outcome: that the so-called "election deniers" had been absolutely right, that their assertions of voter fraud and ballot manipulation had been correct?

Kinda like that revealed in Georgia a few days ago? You know... like that neither democrat US Senator would have been elected? Like Biden would have lost as a result of corruption replication across the several states that all mysteriously shut down their ballot counting at roughly the same time?

Folks, if my 30+ years in politics taught me anything, the most lasting lesson is that there are no coincidences in politics.

There's a reason the left attacked those with concerns about the 2020 electoral outcomes with a viciousness reserved for the mafia.

And, of course, let us not forget the DEMOCRAT election deniers who were never crucified by the press for their sour grapes. For example, 41% of Harris voters polled claimed the results were illegitimate. At least one suit filed in New York challenged the outcome.

Other democrat election deniers include Maxine Waters, Jaime Raskin, Pramila Jayapal, Barbara Lee, Raul Grijalva, Stacy Abrams, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, Kamala Harris, Hakeem Jeffries, Shiela Jackson Lee, Barbara Boxer and many others are ALSO election deniers... but because they're leftists?

No one cares.

One wonders: Why does the left have their OWN election deniers, while continuing to oppose steps to strengthen the very election security so many of them have complained about?

When THEY lose.

The reality is clear: had they wanted honest elections, they would have joined in the 2020 calls for investigation instead of fighting it tooth and nail.

After all, what's the worst that could have happened? That confidence in election outcomes would have skyrocketed based on the outcomes? So, why did the left fight it so hard?

And why now, when even CNN has pointed out MASSIVE support for these efforts to ensure that only legal voters are allowed to vote?
