Answer to the quiz: The Marines were not allowed to have live ammo.

The stunning level of idiocy from the White House continues.

First exhibited by Defense Secretary Leon Panetta when he disarmed soldiers during a visit to Afghanistan, the very idea that Embassy Guard Marines, specially trained and screened for the stability, professionalism, accomplishment and training, would somehow NOT be allowed to carry live ammunition is the kind of empty-suited idiocy the White House is known for.

The idea that ANY military guard stationed ANYWHERE in the Middle East can't carry ammo represents the kind of negligent incompetence that so marks the tenure of this blithering idiot.

That Hillary would allow that kind of garbage?

These are the hallmarks of a group of non-serving pogues who despise the Armed Forces.  It's one of the reasons why I can't support the replacements for Obama who also never bothered to serve.

It's difficult enough to find common sense IN the military... but to be commanded by those with absolutely no clue... on EITHER side of the aisle?

I thank God I kept my kid out of the military...

REPORTS: No Live Ammo for Marines

Marine blogs say U.S. embassy did not authorize service members to carry ammo
U.S. officials have yet to confirm or comment on the reports. Time magazine’s Battleland blog reported Thursday “Senior U.S. officials late Wednesday declined to discuss in detail the security at either Cairo or Benghazi, so answers may be slow in coming.”
If true, the reports indicate that Patterson shirked her obligation to protect U.S. interests, Nightwatch states.

When I was an enlisted Recon Scout, I used to be on guard duty.  They trusted us so much we would get axe handles.  But we were guarding track and vehicle parks.

And we we had weapons, they'd be empty.  So, I have some inkling of the disgust these Marines felt when they were disarmed.

In the Middle East.

Criminal stupidity, likely followed in Libya.  And people died because of it.

Actually,

"UPDATE: A Marine spokesperson at the Pentagon denied reports that U.S. Marines defending the American embassy in Egypt were not permitted by the State Department to carry live ammunition in a statement to Fox News Thursday.

Pentagon Lt. Col. Chris Hughes told the outlet: “The ambassador and RSO (Regional Security Officer) have been completely and appropriately engaged with the security situation. No restrictions on weapons or weapons status have been imposed. This information comes from the Det Commander at AMEMB (American Embassy) Cairo.”
