The Administration lied: it wasn't the movie.

Both the Administration and every media source I've seen, including FoxNEWS, jerked their collective knees so hard they broke them in trying defend Obama's incompetent foreign policy and demonstrated weakness to the terrorists (Paying for a Taliban office in Qatar?  Really?) by saying the entirety of the riots and attacks was based on a video instead of the truth of the matter, which is that simple idiot in the White House has no more idea about what to do in the Middle East then he does on how to perform an abdominal resection.

Common sense is strangely absent in this Administration: the fact that Marines were denied the ability to carry ammunition in Cairo... the fact that each of these scum weren't shot as they went over the walls... the fact that Obama had no fricking clue as to what his/our reaction should be so he did NOTHING AT ALL...

The fact that both the Administration and the media kept lying about the cause of these attacks, instead blaming it on a 14 minute Youtube video that these scum had never heard of... all to cover for that moron who is our president.

Odd.  I knew better.  A great many knew better.  And it took until today to admit what most watching knew the moment it had happened:  The video had nothing to do with it.
Obama official: Benghazi was a terrorist attack

The Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi was in fact "a terrorist attack" and the U.S. government has indications that members of al Qaeda were directly involved, a top Obama administration official said Wednesday morning.

"I would say yes, they were killed in the course of a terrorist attack on our embassy," Matt Olsen, the director of the National Counterterrorism Center, said Wednesday at a hearing of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, in response to questioning from Chairman Joe Lieberman (I-CT) about the attack that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans.

As for who was responsible, Olsen said it appears there were attackers from a number of different militant groups that operate in and around Benghazi, and said there are already signs of al Qaeda involvement.

"We are looking at indications that individuals involved in the attack may have had connections to al Qaeda or al Qaeda's affiliates; in particular, al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb," he said.

The U.S. government just isn't sure yet whether the terrorist attack was pre-planned or whether it was an example of terrorists taking advantage of protests against an anti-Islam film, Olsen said.

Unfortunately, we have a president who feels compelled to lie to both get what he wants, and to protect himself.  Some might say they all do that.

Perhaps.

But few do it so badly.
