As usual, the UN continues to show itself as worthless.

Worthless when Russia invade Georgia. Worthless when Russia invaded Ukraine. Worthless when hamas slaughtered Jews, beheaded babies, executed the elderly.

Wailing and gnashing of teeth doesn't resolve anything. And all of those running around claiming the sky is falling leave out one important element:
How to permanently resolve this situation without squeezing Gaza like a grape.
NO solution that guarantees Israel's absolute security has been offered. Israel has the complete right to defend itself against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Allowing the continuation of Gaza represents an omni-present threat to Israeli security that is undeniable... and increasingly unacceptable.
NO ONE has offered a solution that would stop these attacks from hamas terrorist scum. What other alternative is there that would provide Israel the right to its own security, besides wiping Gaza out?

Middle East on ‘verge of the abyss,’ UN warns as Gaza suffers and Israel prepares for offensive

"This what running for your life looks like in Gaza" I would imagine it looked much the same when hamas slaughtered the Jews in their attack.. a minor detail left out of this report. What would the United States do if Canadians started firing missiles at us across the northern US border?

How much more terrorism do we put up with from the Southern Border?

What did the United States do when WE were attacked on 9/11? Was OUR response "proportional?"

Of course not.

So, what's the difference except for Israel's survival both as a country AND as a people? Why are governments in the West whining about the hypocrisy of a so-called "proportional response?" What level of response will eliminate the threat? No. Israel must do what Israel must do. We may not like it. The WORLD may not like it. But WE have never had a situation like this. Imagine allowing Nazi Germany to have continued to exist instead of demanding and accomplishing their complete destruction? Or a so-called "political solution" to Japan, which would have allowed them to maintain their presence in conquered lands like China, Thailand, Korea and so on. Would that be acceptable? Particularly in Japan, would we have been held to a "proportional response" standard? Imagine a "proportional response" to Nazi Germany's declaration of war? After all, where had THEY attacked US? It's easy to demand "proportionality" when it isn't your infant son beheaded. There comes a time when enough is enough. And that time clearly has arrived for Israel.
