Well, I've crossed Newt off, just like I have crossed off Perry and Paul.

Rewarding illegal activity of any kind is wrong.

No amount of spin will make it right.

You here illegally?  Then you've got to go.  Don't want your illegally born kids to go with you?  Then leave them here.  And next time, think about that BEFORE you have them... because the decision to have children illegally is yours.  But don't expect them to be some sort of anchor that gets you a pass.

You support illegals being here by providing them with employment?  Then your business needs to be seized like they are as a result of illegal drug money.

To give in to the illegal aliens just because they happen to be here is to slap in the face the millions waiting patiently to come here by following the law.  It's that simple, really.

newt's moronic play to get hispanic support was wrong as well.

I've made my position clear on illegals and those who enable them here.

Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich is getting lots of attention for his remarks about immigration in Tuesday's debate. Gingrich, who has been moving up in the polls, broke with his fellow candidates by saying that some illegal immigrants should be allowed to stay in the United States.
Though his statements were in line with other GOP candidates from years past, the aftershocks show just how narrow the immigration debate has been in recent years.
At first, Gingrich spouted the typical Tea Party-era Republican line: "If you've come here recently you have no ties to this country, you oughta go home, period," he said before an audience in Washington, D.C.
But his next statement was what raised eyebrows.
"If you've been here 25 years, and you got three kids and two grandkids, you've been paying taxes and obeying the law, you belong to a local church, I don't think were gonna separate you from your family, uproot you forcefully, and kick you out," Gingrich said.
That got a lot of pushback from Gingrich's fellow candidates, and a lot of post-debate attention. But his statement is not radical by traditional Republican standards.

Apparently, the only way to see our gutless Congresswoman without being pre-screened is to bring your checkbook.

We all know how much of a cowardly disgrace our local congresscritter has morphed into.  Actually, this writer knew she'd be a total disaster as far back as 07, when Cathy McMorris parachuted her absentee behind in here to, well, run for Congress, her prior 11 year absence notwithstanding.

Part of the problem is her lack of intelligence.  Part of it is her narcissism.  Part of it is her lack of vision and the fact that most of the time, her keepers keep their foot firmly stepping on her neck.

But most of her problem is her cowardice. 

It's a cowardice on display in every conceivable way, but primarily, her ongoing failure to summon up the courage to face her constituents.

U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler said Tuesday she's happy with the smaller settings of her invitation-only "community coffees" and isn't planning to hold another large-scale town hall.

About 60 people attended her latest gathering at Judy's Restaurant in Longview on Tuesday morning, a fraction of the attendance at earlier town halls in her Southwest Washington district.

To Herrera Beutler, a Camas Republican in her first term, it's about maintaining the quality of discussion with constituents without the influence of outside interests.

"I get to hear what real people are thinking, not people who organize from Portland or Seattle," Herrera Beutler said.

However, some constituents said Herrera Beutler should make herself more available, even if she's exposed to tough questions. Some complained that they only learned about Tuesday's event from others who received invitations, which undoubtedly reduced the number of people participating.

"Fifty to 60 people out of 30,000 in Longview-Kelso is nothing," retiree Bill Kasch of Longview said.

More, of course, if you can stomach it.

Her cowardice is now, of course, sunk in concrete:

And this woman has been tasked to have an impact in the destiny of this Nation?

There is absolutely no excuse for this kind of controlled access, save one: fear.

Her handlers are afraid that Ridgefield Barbie, when forced to answer questions, will engage in the same kind of idiocy she resorted to when she lied to the Commissioners during her confirmation process for the legislature:

"Every step I have taken since high school has been preparing me for this," she said at Thursday's hearing, her voice cracking slightly. "There is not a job in the world I would rather have."

So, just over two years later, her imagination having sufficiently expanded to encapsulate the reason she was sent here in the first place, the only job she would rather have obviously did not include remaining in the Washington State House of Representatives.

Apparently, Congress was a job she would rather have.  Apparently, when she was blubbering through her act to get the commissioner's votes (which were already in the bag, thanks to Marc Boldt) she was lying.

Tim "The Liar" Leave-it slapped her around like a rented step-child.  Instead of kicking him in his miniature testicles, she just disappeared.  Great message THAT sends, eh, Babs?

And, she's afraid of us.  She doesn't want to hear from us.

Unless, of course, you bring your checkbook.  That, apparently, is the only "invitation" you have to show to get in:

Vancouver Mayor Tim Leavitt said Monday he will not run against U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler in 2012, but did say it’s “very likely” he’ll run again for mayor in 2013. 

Speculation about whether Leavitt would run against Herrera Buetler, R-Camas, was the subject of a front-page story in Sunday’s Columbian. 

Leavitt, 40, made his announcement Monday in an email to members of the Vancouver City Council, City Manager Eric Holmes and city lobbyist Mark Brown. 

“I committed to making a final decision about a run for our Congress seat this past week,” Leavitt wrote. “After much conversation, advice/feedback and deliberation, I’ve decided now is not the right time for me, for our City Council and for our Community, to pursue the WA 3rd Congressional District seat.” 

Work here in Vancouver, including serious adjustments and improvements in the city’s structure, as well as community development projects, isn’t done, said Leavitt, who was elected mayor in 2009. 

“I want to see those through to completion,” he said. “I’m not sure we’ll be able to finish laying those foundations in the next two years.”  Two city councilors have also expressed interest in Leavitt’s job, Mayor Pro Tem Larry Smith and Councilor Jeanne Stewart. 

“If those council members think they can do a better job than I can, I welcome the challenge and debate in a public forum on our accomplishments and leadership style,” he said Monday. “I think it was my predecessor coined who the phrase, ‘Hey, anybody can run for mayor.’ But there’s a difference between running for mayor ... and actually handling the pressure and responsibilities.”

"Commissioner holidays" Another massive waste of money that Marc Boldt supports.

Democrat Marc Boldt, who long since has lost any pretense of being the conservative Republican he used to be, is on a crusade... or, more properly, a jihad... to find and support wastes of money in county government and CTrans.

We already know about his rabid support of the most recent rip off, the CTrans sales tax scam and his support for the gerrymandered tax district that excludes 10's of thousands of us from voting... but not from paying their tax... and now?  In the midst of our double-digit unemployment and this horrific recession?

Boldt can waste $140,000 of our money... on a "commissioner holiday."

That's right.  Multiple sources at the county tell me that Boldt SUPPORTS the idea of just GIVING county employees at least one, and possibly two, paid days off, over and above their already horrifically expensive benefits... just because.

Tom Mielke has tried and tried to get this removed.  Boldt ignores him... and Stuart?  Well, Stuart would sell his own mother to get re-elected (I call him "The Liar" as well... and for a damned good reason) so you know damned well HE won't step up.

So, congrats, Marc.  between all your many tax increases, your travel on the government dime, your wastes of money like this... well, you are screwing us sideways... like he's spending OPM... when he SHOULD be spending every dime as if it were coming out of HIS kid's pockets.
