As so many GOP'er's sell out on amnesty, thus ending any chance at regaining the White House (Why vote for a fake democrat when you can just punch the ticket for the real thing) based on the idiotic notion that placating the left and becoming democrat light will cause ANY votes to go to the GOP I have got to ask myself: what the hell is happening to the GOP?
There is no hope if GOP leadership is so moronic that they believe bringing millions more democrat votes into this country (And you KNOW the illegal alien vote is always left) and payingt tens of billions more then we're already wasting on them is a policy that somehow makes sense.
It doesn't.
This amnesty won't fix anything any more than the last amnesty did. How otherwise presumably intelligent people think it would is the political mystery of the ages.
Those in the GOP who support amnesty for those here illegally make them political enemies as much as, say, Jim "Molehill" Moeller.
It's a stupid, foolish, short-sighted move on the GOP's part, and it just serves to re-enforce my decision to leave the party... as the Party has left me and millions of others.

Hispanics are forced to vote Democrat (or not at all) because Conservatives make them. My guess is that if Conservatives actually practiced the gospel of Opportunity and Liberty, "illegal immigrants" would be the first to sign up. But no, you have to harp, and gripe, and bitch about something YOU CANNOT CHANGE. Roll with it and you get back on top – fight it and Conservatism will only last until our generation dies.

There's a reason the left screams "racism!" every time a voter ID bill comes up for consideration.
In the end, it's suicide for the GOP to just become the democrats, PARTICULARLY when they will see NO benefit from caving on this issue AND the millions of illegals swarming us will cost us tens of billions we CANNOT AFFORD.
Political expedience is no reason to change tenets.
At the end of the day, when democrats were crushed in 94, their response wasn't to become GOP lite: it was to become communist light.
So, the dems should do it one way, and the GOP should just do the same thing?
