Democrat Flygare's Stolen Valor gambit partially exposed: still likely faking the Purple Heart.

By now, regular readers know I'm on to the Flygare scam, where first, he lied about two tours In Vietnam and then, likely lied about his Purple Heart that he wears as much as his glasses.

Well, The Tacoma News Tribune has taken a look... and the news on the fake Vietnam tour ain't good:
House candidate Roger Flygare of Federal Way revises inflated claim of two tours in Vietnam

Democrat Roger Flygare
State House candidate Roger Flygare has touted his military service in Vietnam and his Purple Heart while on the campaign trail, and has repeatedly told voters he served two tours of Vietnam.
He now acknowledges he served a single, yearlong tour in the war, and says he didn’t mean to misrepresent his Army career.
“It’s like a brain fart. I don’t know why I keep saying two tours in Vietnam,” he said Monday at his home in Federal Way while showing copies of his military records.
Flygare was addressing questions raised by a Lacey writer, Thom Stoddert, who dug into the candidate’s history.
Flygare, a Democrat who owns a court reporting business, had made the false claim in a video he posted to YouTube during an unsuccessful City Council campaign last year, on his LinkedIn resume, in a questionnaire filled out for the King County Democrats, and on the website of his House campaign, which he has changed at least twice in recent days.
Earlier this month, the campaign website said Flygare
went to work for the Boeing Company before being drafted and serving two tours of duty in Vietnam, where he earned a Purple Heart.
On Monday, the site said Flygare
went to work for the Boeing Company before being drafted and serving in Vietnam, where he earned a Purple Heart.
Today, it says Flygare
went to work for the Boeing Company before being drafted and serving one tour in Germany and another in Vietnam, where he earned a Purple Heart.
More:

The man is a liar.  When he says... "I don’t know why I keep saying two tours in Vietnam,” the answer is obvious.  He's an insecure nit who has to inflate his sense of self-importance.

Furthermore, Flygare did not "Serve One Tour" in Germany:  He wasn't there long enough.

The entirety of this thing is bizarre.  As I pointed out in my first post on this guy:
A very few people who served in the military can be just as weird about their service as those "Stolen Valor" civilian whack jobs that think their lives are enriched by false claims... to everything from claiming Special Forces service by the democrat mayor of Atlantic City back in 2007 (Quite unnecessary, given his otherwise distinguished and honorable record of service) to the democrat US Senator from Connecticut, Richard Blumenthal, who repeatedly claimed he had served in Vietnam while a Marine during his campaign speeches... when he had never set foot on the place. (He won anyway.) And who can forget democrat John Kerry's three likely fake Purple Hearts?

To that group, we perhaps are adding the name of democrat Roger Flygare, running in the 30th District House seat around Federal Way.
The need for inflation is self-evident.  These people cannot understand that they are who they are, and they don't NEED to lie about this stuff.

It's not unlike the Jon Russell scams where in he repeatedly inflated his education and lied about his wife being a doctor and made up fake identities on facebook to tear others down.

That made no sense... he would have likely gone much farther had he just stuck with the truth of what and who HE was... instead of feeling compelled to lie about it.... just like Flygare.

UNFORTUNATELY, the issue of Flygare's Purple Heart is unsettled.

Yes, I understand his DD 214 has a PH on it.  But here's the deal, you see: most of the information on a DD214 comes from the Form20.

And who, as a personnel clerk had access to his own Form20 and could PUT the Purple Heart on it?

Why, Roger Flygare.

The problem Roger has is, as a clerk typist, he had no security role.  His main concern would be paper cuts.

Unfortunately, Roger appears to have listed a General Order Number on a certain date in a certain unit that saw him getting awarded the Purple Heart.  Maybe it was another one of his many "brain farts."

The problem?

That general order doesn't seem to exist.

And Flygare can't produce orders showing the award.

Again, this is way out in the weeds.

There's nothing wrong with being a clerk in a war zone: I acknowledged that the Army floats on a sea of paper and SOMEBODY has to shuffle it... as an officer, I shuffled my own fair share.

But, for a clerk to make this up?

The general order is being researched.  My guess is that like the fake tour, we're going to find out the Purple Heart is just as fake.
