Where Glenn Beck lost me.

.
It's all about the Benjamins, right Glenn?

I've occasionally watched and listened to Glenn Beck. Sometimes, he's informative and passionate about the decline of our country as a result of a leftist agenda.

I've been impressed by his seeming altruism, and his ability to explain the issues in a way that actually makes sense.

He's been a huge part of the Tea Party Movement, and his involvement has led to a great deal that has worked to spread the word.

The problem?

He's not doing it to save his country. He's not doing it because it's the right thing to do. He's not doing it because he, apparently, fears our country is at risk.

He's doing it for the money.

The end result is his show has been reduced to little more than an info-mercial, a platform where he can shill his books and his personal appearances.

Most recently, it's been this American Revival shtick.

So, I thought I'd check into ticket prices for his upcoming appearance:

Glenn Beck's American Revival
Glenn Beck's American Revival is a daylong event where you can find information, inspiration, and the preparation to help turn this country around...
- Tickets now available!

Yup. "Tickets ARE available."

And how much might those tickets be?

That's right: tickets to see Beck's "save the country" tour cost $134.75

I'm sorry, Glenn, but if your true aim is to reverse disaster and save this country from the forces that would destroy it, you cannot charge each of us $134.75 to hear that message.

That is an absurd amount of money to charge... and it cheapens what you are trying to tell us.

You have become a political parody. And you're clearly driven by The Money.

And I am out.

  1. That's really unfortunate, although I wonder if there are costs involved that we aren't aware of. I would hope that would be the case.

I listen to Beck and also Hannity and Rush Limbaugh. Each one of them has their own problems when it comes to delivering their opinions. For example when Rush was discussing the issue of climate change and was commenting that carbon dioxide is not toxic because all human beings exhale it. Well, OK, so if we couldn't exhale it, we would die...it's as simple as that so the logic just doesn't tend to follow. Hannity has good things to say, but when he gets on his talking points thats all he says....over and over and over...no matter what the other person is saying. Beck, well he's different than either one of the other two, but the biggest problem I have with him is that his show tends to be so juvenile at times. On his radio show, when he and his side kicks start mocking and making fun of people I just want to throw up. Come on people....nobody has to mock anyone! The folks on the other side of the aisle put out enough ammunition that it doesn't have to be embellished! Let's grow up and be respectful. It would be a refreshing change.

  2. I've always had a problem listening to Beck from early on. He gets a bit over the top, although not as bad as Michael Savage.

Seeing he wants $135 for tickets to see him is to rich for my bllod too.

You are right too. People like you and I do this out of principle, standing on our values and seeking to preserve and protect them.

Nothing wrong with earning a little money, but when the money overtakes over your principles, you become no better than a Liberal/progressive in my book.

Beck's appearance isn't costing as much as Palin's appearance at Lane County's Lincoln Day event 4/23. Tickets to see Palin cost $250 each!

  4. Yeeaaaahhhhh! Michael Savage is pretty over the top....however Beck is bordering on the strange with those commercials about food storage. I really believe that he thinks this country is going to completely collapse and we will be needing to go to our bunkers and food storage lockers in order to survive. Kind of brings back the days when they taught me to crawl under my desk at school in order to survive an atomic blast.

    Beck is a self-serving fraud.
