So, the Pope addressed Congress today. Every democrat fawns over the Pope when they think they can use him; but there selective hearing is the fulcrum of there rank hypocrisy.
I don't. I'm not a catholic, so, perhaps that's the lack of a draw for me.
As far as the Pope is concerned, I no more accept his moralization than I do that of, say, Jerry Falwell or any TV evangelist.
Unlike a leftist seeking political advantage and the, "See? The Pope says we must allow unlimited immigration; must allow special rights for gays! We must do what he says!" shtick.
About those two issues.
But stone-faced silence on the matter of abortion.
Selective hypocrisy of this type is a fabulous political tool of the left; insistence on ethical double-speak and a double-standard of politics, selective application of the Pope's moralizing... new depths of hypocrisy were reached this morning.
And the Pope bears his fair share of it as well.
He makes demands of this country that he, himself, does not accede to: we are required by his light to take in anyone who wants to come.... here. And we, the American people who have not, at this point adequately cared for our own veteran population, must now begin the process of sharing the burden of "welcoming" tens of thousands of muslim people who would love to see this country destroyed and replaced with a Caliphate while we assume the burden of millions from throughout the world who bring poverty and disease and crime to our shores.
Yet, what does the Vatican do?
Do we see tents set up in the Square to house tens of thousands of these so-called refugees? Is the Church spending itself into bankruptcy to care for those who, on any given day, decapitate the Pope and do so cheerfully?
Nothing.
He has zero credibility on these issues given that neither he... nor The Vatican... are doing the most important thing:
Leading by example.
I don't give a damn what the Pope says until or unless he and his people sacrifice the way he demands of us.
The Left will continue to ignore this man when it suits them. They will use him when it fits their meme.
And he allows himself to be used in an effort to further his authority over all of us.
As a Nation, we are under no compunction to allow anyone for any reason into our borders. The lunacy of inviting that which may be related to our downfall is just that: lunacy.
And there is a reason the Vatican isn't accepting the 10's of thousands of refugees they demand of us. There's a reason that Middle Eastern countries of financial substance are refusing to go out and open THEIR borders to these "refugees."
And yet, when it comes to that, we should ignore the very reasons and justifications for their actions that they use to turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to their own hypocrisy while we are expected, once again, to do more and more and more.
And pay for it. With an already looming debt of $19 trillion, we have yet to run out of trees to print money. Leftists don't care about the burden they place on others since, like so many other policies the left loves... they rarely have to live with the results.
Political hypocrisy. Available in all flavors and colors. Both sides practice it like they breathe.
And we all suffer because of it.

The Vatican, for its part, welcomes millions of visitors a year — but allows only a very select few, who meet strict criteria, to be admitted as residents or citizens. What does he, the Pope, risk by making these demands of us?
Only about 450 of its 800 or so residents actually hold citizenship, according to a 2012 study by the Library of Congress. That study said citizens are either church cardinals who reside in the Vatican, the Holy See’s diplomats around the world, and those who have to reside in the city because of their jobs, such as the Swiss Guard.
Spouses and children who live in the city because of their relationship with citizens — including the Swiss Guard and workers such as the gardener — can also be granted citizenship. But that means few of the Vatican’s citizens are women.

A Vatican spokesman did not return an email seeking comment on its policy.
Nothing.

It would seem Democrats were on to something back in 1960 when they expressed concerns on nominating JFK for president due to his being a Catholic and devoted to the Vatican.
ReplyDeleteI, a Liberal, don't listen to one word that man says. I don't know if you do or not but you already pointed out the lack of credibility & rank hypocrisy. Same thing when the Dali Lama comes,or any other self-righteous, sanctimonious, condescending, do-as-I-sayer.
