Vancouver Soviet Commissar Larry Smith is, thankfully for our community, calling it a day and leaving the city presidium after doing incalculable damage to Clark County for several years, ignoring the will of the voters and just being a stain on democracy here locally for the better part of two decades.
"Divisiveness" was his middle name, along with arrogance rivaled only by Jimmy "Molehill" Moeller.
Along with "No Choice" Royce Pollard, both of them frequently made me ashamed that I ever took a commission in the US Army, as both of their post-military career politics were a disgrace and a shame to the will of the people of this community in ways that frankly disgusted me.
Ultimately, they both were rabid CRC/Loot Rail scammers and had absolutely no problem lying, exaggerating and insulting those opposed to their self-serving, non-responsive agenda.
Their attacks on those who disagree with them; Smith's incessant whining, sniveling and arrogance on the CTran Board generally and towards Commissioner Madore specifically (Larry, you were a legend in your own mind) is the kind of thing that proves that while he may have been an officer, he was certainly no gentleman.
In the end, he won't be missed any more than Pollard or Boldt.
Good riddance and don't let the door hit you on the way out.
