The First Amendment is, of course, meaningless babble to the left.

The stupidity of this is obvious: but then, even when Cantwell isn't bumping uglies with a married consultant, she's never been the brightest bulb on the tree.
What I'm referring to here, exactly, isn't the absolutely indecipherable hatred the left has for the First Amendment. Cantwell can drop a bill that's going precisely no where just as fast as Jamie Herrera. And this bill is one of those.
That said... why isn't she more concerned about domestic violence?
If you're going to engage in this kind of idiocy so you can campaign on it... why not do it for the RIGHT reasons?
Drop a bill or an amendment that will strip the NFL of their tax scam because they can't seem to control their players.
Drop a bill that holds them accountable for their miserable failures to handle domestic violence, domestic assault, child abuse and so forth. Do it for reasons that actually, really, truly matter... and not trip like this.
Drop a bill that actually accomplishes something besides making you look like a blithering idiot.

Cantwell offers bill to strip NFL’s nonprofit status
WASHINGTON — Making good on her threat Tuesday, Sen. Maria Cantwell has introduced a bill to deny tax-exempt status to sports leagues that allow its franchise teams to use the term “redskins.”
Thursday’s bill follows the Washington Democrat’s earlier pledge to strip the National Football League of its nonprofit status over Commissioner Roger Goodell’s inaction so far in forcing Washington D.C.’s NFL team to change its name.
Although many consider the name offensive or racist, Dan Snyder, owner of the Washington team, has resisted calls for a new mascot.
The NFL is a $9.5 billion franchise. But unlike Major League Baseball, the league itself operates as a nonprofit that funnels any profits back to its 32 teams.
The stupidity of this is obvious: but then, even when Cantwell isn't bumping uglies with a married consultant, she's never been the brightest bulb on the tree.
