In addition to being one of the biggest mouths among the CRC Scammers, Mike Briggs was/is a HUGE supporter of the Slimeball Mayor of the Vancouver Soviet!
Who knew?
From Lefty Lou's butthurt column where prospective, unqualified commissioner appointee candidate Temple Lenz told Lefty to, in the words of the column Lefty wrote: "Go fuck yourself."
This toadying of Briggs tends to cement the idea that he supports politicians who have an agenda he endorses, even as they ignore the people they would govern or the harm they would cause; that he has no clue as to the political reality, that he's gullible in ways that are frightening and that he can no more "represent" the 18th District then he can levitate.

- Mike Briggs · Top Commenter · 1 at Candidate - WA ST House@Norm, I like the way you wrapped up your last piece, "I sincerely wish there was some way to put this behind you, Mr Mayor, as you are a valued member of the community with much to contribute".
This was good Norm because to be a politician you have to be able to juggle at least three balls in the air while campaigning and try to do good overall and occasionally have to try and un-do something you said earlier......... for various good-sounding reasons at the time. It's simply the nature of the beast.
From my limited view I believe Mayor Leavitt is doing the best that he can and is learning, all the time, to serve Vancouver even more so in the future.Reply · August 3, 2011 at 10:21pm- Mike Briggs · Top Commenter · 1 at Candidate - WA ST HouseI agree with you Lou. Mayor Leavitt has earned my respect and I think he is dealing with some very touchy issues, with some very unsavory people and unsavory tactics, and not doing a bad job of it. I do believe he has the best interest of the people of Vancouver at heart. I do believe he will age with grace and become more effective with his time remaining.Reply · 1 · August 3, 2011 at 10:25pm
- Mike Briggs · Top Commenter · 1 at Candidate - WA ST HouseThis was quite an exchange. I'd like to thank Norm Suebert for his well put, concise and articulate point of view. I'd like to thank Mayor Tim Leavitt for his long, but well written response to Mr. Seubert's initial charge. One where I had part of this information but never put together in such good chronological fashion nor as heartfelt (that's a kudo for you Tim). Lastly, I like the way Lou kind of wrapped it all up, with his mouth hanging kind of open I am sure, for like him, I would have not anticipated the exchange ..... all over some trash talk from a salty-talking woman (I would have said "Lady" but I am not sure that would apply).
Great exchange guys!Reply · August 3, 2011 at 10:13pm- Mike Briggs · Top Commenter · 1 at Candidate - WA ST HouseExcellent questions Lou, thought provoking and very relevant. How does a politician handle a problem like Mayor Leavitts, that of taking a stance before an election and then, after learning much more as anyone would coming in from the "outside", having to reverse yourself without fear of execution by some of those who elected you?? This is tough.
But I will tell you this, I would rather have a man(woman) be able to do this, to have to reverse himself when he gets more information, rather than stick to something that he knows "now" to be wrong or incorrect. I believe we all want leaders that use their heads and make the kind of decisions that are tough when they must. Even......... if it "makes them look bad" to some of the constinuents in the process. I think this is just the nature of the beast when one decides to get into politics.
Further, if someone votes for a candidate only on one issue- you run the risk of being disappointed in the long haul.Reply · August 5, 2011 at 8:09am
