As Stuart's pay off draws nearer, so does the relief at his departure.

I pity the city of Ridgefield.  I really do.

Here's one of those times when Marc Boldt should have applied for the job.

Soon, the county will be much better off as the cancer on our commission departs... getting his pay off for throwing the county under a TriMet bus.

Folks, this isn't a coincidence.  Nothing in Politics is.

Now, let me make it clear at the outset.  I have no inside information from any source in Ridgefield.

What I do have is this: the knowledge that Stuart never would have applied for the job if he didn't know up front he was getting it.

Here's the thing: if Stuart does NOT get the job... the political damage he, personally, would suffer would end him.

That's not a "gamble" he's ready to take... the kind of "gamble" he'd be forced to take if the fix wasn't in.

He doesn't have the background or record that supports such a hiring, of course: No MPA, no city manager/management background.

His rabid support of worthless programs such as the CRC; his multiples lies (De rigueur for any CRC Scammer) in support of that rip off and to get elected; his bizarre support of the ballpark scam, his vote on the unconstitutional gun ordinance allowing for the confiscation  of our weapons should the commissioners deem it necessary.

Nevertheless, very soon, he will become Ridgefield's problem instead of the entire county's.

That will bring on the delicious irony of the two most-hated-by-the-left commissioners naming his democrat replacement.

It really doesn't matter who they pick: they'll be destroyed in the upcoming election: any democrat would be because of their mandatory history of supporting the CRC Scam and, of course, because this appears to be a year of democrat slaughter.
SECTION 15 VACANCIES IN LEGISLATURE AND IN PARTISAN COUNTY ELECTIVE OFFICE. Such vacancies as may occur in either house of the legislature or in any partisan county elective office shall be filled by appointment by the county legislative authority of the county in which the vacancy occurs: Provided, That the person appointed to fill the vacancy must be from the same legislative district, county, or county commissioner or council district and the same political party as the legislator or partisan county elective officer whose office has been vacated, and shall be one of three persons who shall be nominated by the county central committee of that party, and in case a majority of the members of the county legislative authority do not agree upon the appointment within sixty days after the vacancy occurs, the governor shall within thirty days thereafter, and from the list of nominees provided for herein, appoint a person who shall be from the same legislative district, county, or county commissioner or council district and of the same political party as the legislator or partisan county elective officer whose office has been vacated, and the person so appointed shall hold office until his or her successor is elected at the next general election, and has qualified: Provided, That in case of a vacancy occurring after the general election in a year that the office appears on the ballot and before the start of the next term, the term of the successor who is of the same party as the incumbent may commence once he or she has qualified and shall continue through the term for which he or she was elected: Provided, That in case of a vacancy occurring in the office of joint senator, or joint representative, the vacancy shall be filled from a list of three nominees selected by the state central committee, by appointment by the joint action of the boards of county legislative authorities of the counties composing the joint senatorial or joint representative district, the person appointed to fill the vacancy must be from the same legislative district and of the same political party as the legislator whose office has been vacated, and in case a majority of the members of the county legislative authority do not agree upon the appointment within sixty days after the vacancy occurs, the governor shall within thirty days thereafter, and from the list of nominees provided for herein, appoint a person who shall be from the same legislative district and of the same political party as the legislator whose office has been vacated. [AMENDMENT 96, 2003 House Joint Resolution No. 4206, p 2819. Approved November 4, 2003.]
So, as long as Slimeball resigns before filing (Which is, if memory serves, is in May) then the remaining commissioners pick his replacement and that seat-filler gets to be replaced in the general election... with immediate effect.

He/she/it has to be a democrat.  He/she/it has to be nominated by the neo-communists running the democrats in Clark County.

And he/she/it will be selected by conservative commissioners.  What a hoot!

The C3G2 neo-communists claim they'll be "watching."  Betty Sue is foaming at the mouth in hopes that FINALLY, one or both of the conservatives on the commission will ACTUALLY commit a "re-callable offense," an acknowledgement that they've done nothing to rate a recall to date... except to piss off the fringe left of this county... which clearly, ain't enough.

Of course, I can fully expect Slimeball, with the acquiescence of Onslow, to try and do both jobs... also getting paid for both... at least until after the cut off so that a replacement will get the seat until the special election in 2015... when they, whoever they may be, will be crushed by a count6y electorate sick of the leftist games and sick of the CRC Scammers.

It was a hard vote for Slimeball to take.

It'll be a tasty reward.

Meanwhile, the leftists will be beating themselves in fake grief, whining and sniveling and moaning as Stuart abandons those who supported his election.  After all, there's money involved, so how does that stack up to a commitment to those moronic enough to vote for him?

Serves them right.
