More:Senate to adjourn without vote on Inslee’s transportation bill
Gov. Jay Inslee’s attempt to bluff Republicans into supporting a transportation plan that would raise gas taxes by 10.5 cents a gallon has apparently failed.
Even as the governor was telling the Senate Ways and Means Committee on Friday that Boeing will build its new 777X jetliner elsewhere unless Washington lawmakers adopt all five components of his legislative agenda within a week, Majority Caucus Leader Rodney Tom (D-Medina) was announcing the Senate would adjourn on Saturday after passing only a couple of noncontroversial measures, including extending a package of Boeing tax breaks through 2040.
The transportation bill, he noted, will have to wait until the 2014 session begins in January.
“We must adopt all five elements of this package,” Inslee told the Senate committee. “If we do this, we will design our destiny rather than be victims of it. Nothing is more important to our economic future than what we accomplish in the next few days.”
Tom, however, said there is no reason to believe Boeing is insisting on passage of a transportation bill.
“To say this was critical to the package overstated the position,” Tom said on Thursday. “There are members that feel we’re being jammed on this, and if you want a transportation package and that is your goal, you don’t name people. Because as soon as you jam somebody, there is a reflexive ‘no’ on the other end, and that is not how we’re going to get together on a transportation package.”

State Senate bitch-slaps Outslee: no transportation package.
As somebody (Namely, me) said all along, there is not going to be a transportation package, because while many in the MCC were born on a Saturday... it wasn't LAST Saturday.
funny that the "taxes" are just what were being sought to fund the CRC ain't it? the bastard was just using the kite factory as an "excuse", that's soooo obvious...
