A lot.
In response to his latest stupidity, Ken Vance, Reflector editor, ginzus Mikey's rather simplistic, leftist, unrealistic position on his pool fetish, busted here below.
More:Everyone wants a pool, but who will agree to pay for it?
Posted: Wednesday, July 17, 2013 9:00 amThere was a time in my life, not so long ago, when I was addicted to golf. I played every chance I got, often 3-4 times a week, which for someone with a full-time job is a lot of hacking and slashing your way around the links.
I had a large group of very good friends who lived in the Seattle area, most of whom are still up there. As often as I could, I would race up I-5 on my days off and play a round with some of them at various courses all over the Puget Sound area. As golfers tend to do, we would usually find a restaurant or bar after the round to relax and enjoy each other’s company, not wanting the day to end.
I will never forget one of these such occasions. After the post-round meal, some of us ordered dessert, which unfortunately wasn’t all that rare of an occurrence in this group. When the server brought us our items for indulgence, she sat them on the table and then cheerfully asked, “Would you like hot fudge with that?’’ My good friend Bill looked at me from across the table with a Cheshire cat-like grin before asking the server, “Does anyone ever say ‘No’ to that question?’’

The voter’s pamphlet for the Aug. 6 primary election arrived in the mail this week from the Clark County Auditor’s Office. Mike Ciraulo is running for re-election to the Battle Ground City Council Position No. 1 and he has three challengers – Richard Brown, Lyle Lamb, and Cherish DesRochers (that’s the order the challengers were listed in the pamphlet, don’t read anything into how I listed the names. This isn’t a column endorsing anyone for the position. The Reflector will report more on the race before the primary).
Each of the four candidates were allowed some brief comments. Ciraulo used part of his limited space to say “I am continuing to work to develop a private public partnership to bring a pool and recreational center to our city ...’’ I feel like that’s the political equivalent to a server in a restaurant asking someone if they want hot fudge with their dessert, or the high school teenager running for Student Body President on a platform promising no more homework.
Who doesn’t want a swimming pool in their community? That’s not the question. The question is, who wants a swimming pool in their community that they have to pay for? The answer to those two questions are dramatically different when the math is revealed.
As a fringe-left nutter, Dalesandro shares the mentality that any issue or problem can be solved merely by throwing money at it. For him, he's trying to turn his support of a superfluous expenditure that costs tens of millions to build and additional millions to maintain over the years into some sort of political issue.
It's the kind of stupidity that will see him crushed this November. As well it should.
There's no "there," there, Mikey.
It's not too late: you can still save yourself the crushing embarrassment of getting your ass kicked by withdrawing.
Seriously. Because you are not only going to lose... but you are going to lose ugly.
You're right, of course, about the pool, but you're wrong to suggest Mike withdraw from the race for fear of losing.
ReplyDeleteMike, if you're reading this, take it from a guy who's lost WAY more times than he's won... Dude, f**k 'em if they can't take a joke
Is he at a disadvantage going against an incumbent sitting Mayor? Perhaps. However, so is every candidate running against an incumbent in Battle Ground. While Dalesandro may be a partisan democrat hack, his opponent (Lisa Walters) is less than stellar. Where do I start? She did full page ads in the Reflector for democratic candidate Joe Tanner (thank God he lost), she openly supported the sellout Marc Boldt (again thank God), she signed a joint letter with Washington Mayors supporting Gay marriage, she openly supported the CRC and light rail, she has had her house foreclosed on, she owes the city of Battle Ground thousands in unpaid water and sewer bills, she has bounced several personal checks to city hall, she has personal mail delivered to city hall (misuse of public resources), she is going through a nasty personal divorce, and finally she is "couch surfing" with former failed Battle Ground city council man Art "the felon" Nelson who was convicted of stealing money from a church and was convicted of a felon. Talk about picking the lesser of the two evils. As a conservative school teacher working for the BGSD I have watched Mrs. Walters much to my dissatisfaction. Here's to hoping we get better candidates in the future.

His disadvantage is a lack of maturity, a fringe-left, dogged devotion to all things Obama, and a childish dogma of what's right... and what's wrong.
ReplyDeleteVance asked the questions that Dalesandro SHOULD have asked before he threw what little weight he had behind the pool effort.
Look, I'm no Lisa Walters fan. But if I have to choose between Walters (who leans left, in part, I believe, because of her political ignorance) or one who does gymnastics in the fringe left zone and who throws little leftist fits against those wise enough to disagree with his out-of-touch positions... well, that's no contest.
Just for one example: touting an endorsement from a former candidate who lost his election to the city council in the last cycle? And failing to mention that he was Haberthur's campaign manager for that losing effort?
That's the kind of smoke room-filled, underhanded crap that I've come to expect from this guy.
Forced to vote?
I'd vote for anyone but this fringe-left weasel, endorsed by such luminaries as Val Ogden, Tim Probst and the like?
That should kill the deal for anyone.
I just don't see where Delasandro said he supported paying for a pool. He thinks the group should be heard and why not? Give the people a chance to speak. If it's a crappy deal then move on, no harm no foul. Let the people speak. I haven't made up my mind on who to support yet. I googled Delasandros name because I saw his facebook page and your blog came up. A suggestion, if you don't like him you should probably stop posting so much. It just helps get is name out there.
ReplyDeleteRyan from BG
Ryan, if you don't see it....
ReplyDeleteWhen someone says, regarding the pool, "I support this effort 100%!" what do you THINK it means?
At the end of the day, the way this works is this: you have already spoken to the effectiveness of this blog: when you googled his name, it came up. People look at him will click this, and see things he damned sure doesn't want to talk about.
Well, here's the thing: I write when, how and what I want. You, as the reader, have the following options:
1. Don't read it.
2. Read it and ignore it.
3. Read it and check it out for yourself.
4. Read it and believe it.
I don't want this whiner to be anywhere in government. I'm speaking my mind about his efforts to cloak himself as some sort of moderate when, before he announced (and even now... where's leftist Val Ogden's endorsement, again? I saw it on his FB page... now it seems to be gone) he was writing like the DNC was paying him.
As for increasing his exposure... and that equating, somehow to votes?
Tell you what: That's a risk I'll take.
Thanks for stopping by.
