He's ignoring the fact this is DOA in the Senate. He's says stuff that bears no resemblance to reality. He remains the democratian's go-to guy like he has a clue when he doesn't. Why he keeps lying is anyone's guess... but lying he is, and he knows it.
That Oregon passed this idiocy is neither surprising nor unexpected since it screws us sideways. Moeller, of course, doesn't care. His concern is feeding the unions, and if we, 400,000 of us,get screwed to get that done, well, so be it.
But his remarks in the rag are sheer idiocy in the face of the concrete opposition to this scam. For example:
Last month, Washington House Democrats rolled out a nearly $10 billion transportation package that would use a gas tax hike and other revenue sources to steer $450 million to the CRC. Republicans, meanwhile, have called for a series of reforms aimed at cutting transportation costs.Let's just forget about the fact that the line in the sand for the Senate is getting rid of loot rail. Moeller acts like that's not even an issue.
"I think that we can probably come to a compromise that does both," Moeller said.
So, in fact, there is no compromise that "does both." Again, Moeller knows that, he just refuses to admit it.
And then, further cementing his stupidity, he babbles thus:
Oregon's approval could change behind-the-scenes conversations about the CRC in Olympia, even if it doesn't change the ultimate outcome, Moeller said. He vowed to keep pushing forward on a project supporters have called essential to the regional economy.Uh.... no. Oregon could vaporize and it wouldn't "change the behind-the-scenes conversations about the CRC." Everyone up there knew that Oregon wanted to screw us and knew that this was how they were going to do it.
"We'll hopefully step up to the plate and match our neighbor to the south," Moeller said.
While Moeller may be "hopeful" that our "neighbor to the south" might bend us over, the adults in the Senate have a different take.
HB2800 is the political equivalent of rohypnal. And that moron Moeller has overdosed on it to get what he wants... no matter WHAT WE want.
And then THIS idiocy from CRC toady Mike Briggs:
Mike Briggs · Top Commenter · Works at Civic Activist
Interesting article. I really don't know if Oregon's spotlight on Washington's legislature will carry that much weight or not. However, one comment kind of jumped out at me,
"The chances of CRC funding coming out of the Senate: "Not very likely," Rivers said."
For the life of me I didn't know Sen. Rivers speaks for the entire Washington Senate!
But all fun aside, it's going to be a tough deal for both sides. There is a LOT at stake... I don't know if I would like to be the person who shoots down this bridge and both states of Oregon and Washington have nothing for another 10 years.
Yet, I can assure Briggs that Moeller doesn't speak for them either. And fiortunately for us, Rivers actually wants to represent the people, unlike Moeller and his ilk, who don't care.
