A message from Marc Boldt: 2004 fundraising letter.

(FULL DISCLOSURE: I have not and likely will not be endorsing in this race. I freely admit that I am totally opposed to Marc Boldt's re-election since he's completely sold out to the left, forgotten/ignored GOP principles, supports the CRC scam in it's entirety and wants to hang tolls around our neck for the next several decades that will destroy a great deal of small business in Clark County as a result.

NO candidate or campaign or anyone involved or in any way concerned with any candidate or campaign was aware of or approved or had input into this post.

Further, Marc Boldt is my brother in law, and I worked for him as his legislative assistant for 6 years while he was in the state house.)

I supported Marc's election to the county commission back in 2004.

I believed a conservative elected to the county commission could make a huge difference... and the Marc Boldt I had worked for was just the guy.

I was wrong.

Unfortunately, Marc's leftward tilt bears no resemblance to the man I worked for all those years.  He opposes a vote of the people on the CRC project, even though he promised me such a vote... to my face... 2.5 years ago.

Here's an except from a fundraising letter I edited for him 8 years ago.  See for yourself:
As your County Commissioner, I will take the public’s viewpoint first rather than the views of non- elected staff. Although most staff members are very capable it is you who will elect me. This will make me directly accountable to you for my actions. Accountable for your tax dollars, and accountable for the regulations placed upon you’re business.
Boldt, of course, also killed the Charter vote that he had promised, a vote that could have given the people of this county a voice they simply do not have in order to stop the pile of garbage the corruption and scams of projects like the CRC that Boldt supports... and that the people oppose.

Ask yourself:

Does Marc Boldt rely on "the public's viewpoint first?"

I don't think he comes close to that anymore.

And that's a shame.

I also edited his commissioner campaign announcement, which included, in part:
First, I BELIEVE WE MUST MAKE SURE COUNTY GOVERNMENT SERVES, RATHER THAN CONTROLS. WE CAN DO  THIS IS A THE PROCESS WE DO IN STATE GOVERNMENT AND WILL BE A CHANGE TO OUR COUNTY. REGARDLESS OF THE ISSUE OR THE OUTCOME OF THE ISSUE, I BELIEVE AFTER PUTTING MY IDEAS IN WRITING, THE PUBLIC SHOULD HAVE THE FIRST OPPORTUNITY FOR THEIR OPINION ON THE SUBJECT.
So... why isn't Boldt bringing the CRC to the citizens first?
Boldt, in an interview Thursday, said having an advisory vote on the CRC would be as meaningful as an advisory vote on whether the United States should be at war in Iraq.
Odd, isn't it?

What happened to the Marc Boldt who believed "....THAT BY BRINGING ISSUES TO THE CITIZENS FIRST RATHER THEN GOING THROUGH A Bureaucratic PROCESS BEFORE TAKING IT TO THE PEOPLE."

He doesn't exist.  Now, he doesn't want to be "accountable."

Democrats run his campaign.  Democrats are funding him.

Draw your own conclusion.

I know I have.
