Times like these make me wish that McCain had pulled it off.

Imagine what the scenarios would be if someone  who had a clue were president.  Someone who had actually served, particularly in the Navy; who understood time, logistics and capabilities in what will, ultimately be a Naval response if Iran gets froggy.

That's another reason to be leery of both Obama and Romney; neither thought highly enough of their country to serve it in uniform.

Now, we've got an Iran and Syria spinning out of control, a Russia that thinks like it's 1870, and a China that just wants to kick somebodies ass because they think they can.

    I often give career advice to young adults, and for many of them I recommend the military but for the best, if they're not already on the academy track, they have other paths ahead of them.

    Some families want soldiers, some want priests - but children should simply be encouraged to make the most of their talents.
