John Laird: Summer flatulence, typical lies, and not enough taxes.
Here's the memo, Laird: The downtown of Vancouver is as dead as the democratian's efforts to set up shop in what's now city hall. It's as dead as the numerous empty store fronts and vacant apartments. It's as dead as Tim Leavitt's integrity.
And that "6000" (That lie might have been more effective if you had said "60,000") people showed up for one event means anything? Well, it does mean SOMETHING.... it means you should up your dosage.
I freely admit I never go to downtown, or anywhere else inside the city limits to spend my time or money if I can avoid it. It's like patronizing a business you know to be a mafia front... and who wants to do that?
Unemployment and taxes are likely higher in Vancouver then anywhere else in the county or Southwest Washington... Moronic "head taxes" and threats of income taxes, this bizarre CRC scam you morons love so much.... all of those things keep most businesses who are not beneficiaries of, for examples, Arch Miller's free rent, Ellie Kasab's practically free buildings and the like OUT of the cesspool you live in. You DO live in downtown, don't you, John?
Butt hurt - Laird is all about nailing Rush for what amounts to hyperbole. So, in the interest of fairness, he should do the same to the lying scumbag that's president, right?
So, why doesn't he? I mean, I get why they deliberately lie by failing to tell the people that the Oregon Supreme Court ferreted out the real reason for the CRC scam (loot rail). I mean, as fanatical as the Laird types are to ram this down our throats without asking us, they're hardly going to let a little something like the truth of it enter into the discussion, are they? Gee, do you suppose that's why the rag has never printed that fact?
But anything that Rush gets wrong is between him and his audience. When Rush calls the Obama tax the largest tax increase in the history of the world (according to you) that's really no different then you or Brancaccio claiming that you're NOT fringe left scum, bending over for the left whenever and however you can. That you lie about that doesn't change the fact of the matter.
If nothing else, the ongoing failure to criticize the president proves that he's your political ally and fellow fringer. So, unlike Rush, what's left of your remaining few strands of hair should be considered for barbecue purposes. Or is that hyperbole as well?
And still going with the butt-hurt baseball meme, he whips out all of his corporate buddies who are peeing themselves over the repeal gay marriage effort, listing Microsoft, Google, Nike and Amazon who want gay business and who know that most have no where else to go in support of special rights for gays... as if that means anything.
I remember a similar list in opposition to I-200, which ended affirmative action in this state's government... or, at least, was supposed to. Oh, my God, the garbage these columnists spouted. If passed, the world was going to end!
They were lying then... much like Laird lies now. That these people... who also, one would presume, opposed Prop 8 in California a few years back, support this effort is meaningless. And what's even more bizarre? This part of the 1% is all evil CORPORATIONS!!!! Odd, isn't it? The pit yorkie can beat up on corporations when they give campaign donations he DOESN"T like... but now wears out kneepads for them when he DOES like it.
And finally, "tolls" don't even belong in the debate.
First, the court made it clear the entirety of this rip off is based on light rail. We don't want light rail. We've voted it down, repeatedly, and would do so again today.
Second, we don't need to replace a 3 lane bridge with a 3 lane bridge.
Third, we need different routes in different areas... any one of which to the west of the I-5 Bridge would relieve pressure on that I-5 Bridge.
And if we don't get those routes, then that does not provide justification for tearing down the bridge we have and replacing it so the clowns in Portland can spread their disease of loot rail here.
Doesn't John Laird live in Lake Oswego? (I thought he told me that. I'm unsure so don't quote me.)
