The Taliban City Council of Vancouver have struck again: dictatorial effort to silence the people.

There are scum... and then there are scum... And, as we all know, Tim Leave-it is at the top of the list.

Let's not forget: in October of 2010, democrat county commissioner (And Leave-it-style liar) Steve Stuart ALSO promised us a vote for November 2011... seen that happen, yet?

They BOTH lied to get elected with obviously false campaigns, and now, Leave-it and his despicable minions on the Taliban City Council  have actually voted to silence the people.

Again.

Vancouver will block light rail vote, for now

Only slight chance C-Tran's light rail M & O funding will be on ballot

The Vancouver City Council took action Monday that is likely to block a public vote this fall on light rail maintenance and operations for a proposed Clark County line.
The Vancouver City Council took action Monday that is likely to block a public vote this fall on light rail maintenance and operations for a proposed Clark County line.

The Vancouver City Council voted 4-3 today to exercise a bloc veto at this week's C-Tran meeting.
The C-Tran Board of Directors meets Tuesday afternoon to discuss whether a .01 percent sales tax for maintenance and operation of light rail and bus rapid transit would go before the agency’s entire service area or a subdistrict.
But a majority of Vancouver’s council members favor no vote this year, preferring instead to vet other ways to pay the $2.57 million annual cost of light rail before asking for a sales tax vote.
Four councilors voted in favor of a motion to oppose advancing a sales tax vote "until all other funding options have been evaluated and discarded as not viable."
Voting in favor were: Mayor Tim Leavitt and Councilors Jack Burkman, Larry Smith and Jeanne Harris.
Councilors Bart Hansen, Jeanne Stewart and Bill Turlay voted no.
Hansen, however, said he will, per council policy, follow the will of the majority of the council and join Leavitt and Smith in exercising a bloc veto.
More, if you can stomach it.
