Columbia River Crossing bridge: $147M more for Washington, Oregon

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — The nearly $150 million that Oregon and Washington have combined to contribute toward the Columbia River Crossing hasn't knocked down the price of the massive Interstate 5 bridge and freeway expansion, according to a new report on the proposal.
The just-released final environmental impact statement makes clear that planners expect the states to contribute $450 million each — on top of the combined $147 million they've paid so far toward the more than $3 billion project, The Oregonian reported (http://bit.ly/qRpNyn).
Under previous calculations, the amount the states have already contributed would have counted toward their $450 million obligations. Oregon and Washington have each contributed half of the money already spent on the development.
The project would replace the I-5 bridge; extend light rail to Vancouver, Wash.; and enhance the pedestrian and bicycle path between Vancouver and Portland. It is expected to be paid for with federal, state and toll money.

Getting hosed another $450 million on the CRC/bridge/loot rail rip off.
Not that you'd see this in the local newspaper, you understand... but it's really odd that Obama has $528 million or so to toss down the toilet on a bogus solar company scam because of his rich buddies... but the fed doesn't have enough to pay for this unnecessary, unneeded and unwanted bridge/loot rail scam.
