As we all know, Jim Jacks resigned suddenly for reasons the local rag has failed to print... but will neither speculate about NOR ALLOW OTHERS TO SPECULATE ABOUT.
Comments to that effect were removed from the Jim Jacks democratian puff piece because, by golly, when it comes to Jacks... ve vill not allow speculation! und, und, und!
Unless it's for any other story.
Speculation and unsubstantiated claims ran rampant recently when it came to a local Oregon lottery winner, going so far as to claim she was a heroin addict.
All of this begs the question as we end the 27th day without any news from the democratian... because, of course, they've made no effort to GET the news concerning Jacks misconduct.
Sometimes, getting the news requires effort. It's why I scooped them by two weeks on Baird's fake death threats; it's why I know exactly what happened, who was involved, where and under what circumstances... just like, I am sure, the democratian knows, but because Jacks is a democrat they want to protect him as much as possible as a reward for his rabid support of the I-5 Bridge/loot rail project.
Which brings us to the latest example of the democratian's institutional double standard: this morning's one car wreck that involved four teenagers:

Now, don't misunderstand me, I have no problem with "speculation," it's typically what humans do when they're trying to understand any given situation.
The problem I've got is with the rag's REEKING double standard... where "speculation" is fine under any other circumstance... but completely verboten when it involves a democrat.
That's not just odd. For what presents itself as a fair and unbalanced publication...
... that's despicable.

Maybe Pot Hole repair should be a bit higher on the list...
The driver of the other vehicle continued on without stopping
What a fine person that is.
What a fine person that is.
What really happened was the driver wasn't paying attention and this happened. Probably wasn't another car involved. Teenage drivers...
All Im thinking when reading this story is they all better stick to the story they told police.
exactly right Jdawg. One, they were late for school. two, that hill is speed central for going down. And 3, I will look today, but I dont know of any pot hole on that stretch and I drive it every day.

I'd tend to agree with your assessment ... it would be interesting to interview the 4 kids involved independently of one another and see if there's only one story being told about the accident. Ford Expeditions aren’t known for their handling characteristics and for that matter ... neither are teenage drivers! I’m just glad they're alright!

I call BS.
Typical teens driving it like they stole it.

Agree with JDAWG.
This will be an interesting story to follow, if they even update it.

They were late! Nuf said!
coincidence it's 420 today? nothing if you wanna a little toke now and then but when you're 17 you're hardly a good enough driver as is... sure the "pot"hole did get in the way this time... glad the little tykes are okay.
It seams like a lot of people don't think they need to have a firm grip on the wheel since they have power steering. I have a cousin that just rests his thumb on the wheel. If he had to swerve or hit a rut or just about anything, he would be off the road and no telling what would happen. He taught his kids and grand kids to drive like that. They also don't think it is important to obey the speed laws. I would have a difficult time feeling sorry for them if and when they wreck up.
another person swerved at them? wink wink SUREEEE THEY DID. and the family pitbull ate the homework too right?
sure the "pot"hole did get in the way this time... glad the little tykes are okay.

You guys may be right. I guess as soon as the police ask each kid separately what color was the car? were there any passengers? was a male or female at the wheel? etc., we'll find out if they're telling the truth or not.
I'm sure we'll find out from the CCSO investigation if they were speeding or not, and if there is a pot hole that could cause them to roll over. That's gotta be a sink hole sized pot hole .
Well . . . maybe a dog ran out in front of them......
I think these kids are about as believable as acid girl was.

Yes, there are a lot of lulus out there for sure. I don't have any reason to disbelieve their story. There's no way they'd have had time to concoct a story that would hold up under examination, so I'm sure the police will have this figured out in no time.

Probably texting, talking and putting on make-up! They do deserve kudos for all wearing their seatbelts! I know a lot of adults who do not!

Hey kids, that phantom car that did not stop excuse wasn't accepted when I was a teen so many years ago either.
Fortunately, no one was injured.
I hope they all learned.

OMG!!! Give them a break! I drove a whole lot better at 17 than I do now. I still remembered all the rules, and was afraid of having the car taken away by my folks if I got a ticket. Now, being considerably older than 17, I get a little lazy sometimes. Give these kids the benifit of the doubt!

Atta girl, Alyssa. See, driving is EASY, ANYONE can do it!!
I've never worked as a rancher but I think I can recognize bull.
I drive this road everyday. No pot hole in the area of the accident.

Alyssa is a very sweet girl from a good family who I know well. I believe exactly what she said happened. She would have no reason to lie, as if she WERE late or at fault, she would tell her parents, as there is no reason to lie about it. You all need something better to do with your ridiculous excess of time, as every time I read a Columbian story, you all have to put your negative spin on everything. BITTER...
I thought that a driver under 18 years of age was not supposed to be driving with anyone else under the age of 18.....
All I can say, is the normal gallery in the Columbian have to be the most clairvoyant group of people I have ever read, they all know what happened an none of them were there.
Well at least nobody was seriously hurt and the article didn't state anything about wrong doing..

Wow, folks, ease up! You don't know what happened, let's not perpetuate any more negative stereotypes of teens, they have a bad enough rap and time as it is.
Yes, many teens shouldn't be on the road at all, but neither should drunks and other 'disabled' people. Make sure your OWN are driving safely first, then worry about others.
For now, I'm just glad no one is hurt by this, except some pocketbooks. At least we should have four very extra safe drivers on the road for awhile. That's a lot these days.

Union High School students witness mock crash Union High School's senior class observed EMTs, police and firefighters handle a DUI-related crash today as part of Every 15 Minutes, a national program teaching students about the dangers of driving while impaired.
Why not have these four go do this tour instead? Teens listen best, if at all, to each other, not adults.

goldenoldie,
Thanks for trying to set the kid bashers straight. A lot of these people talk as if they never had an accident or even made a mistake. They talk like they were the perfect little angels growing up and they are now perfect adults. Well I for one make mistakes every day, I am human. Thank God they are all OK.

Regardless of the story specifics, one fact sticks out: ALL were wearing seatbelts and ALL made it out alive. Seatbelts aren't a guarantee, but they up your odds of survival dramatically. Thank God they had the sense to buckle up!
