Rossi, microtargeting data and lawsuits.

.
I've heard from two sources now that Dino Rossi is offering his microtargeting data from his campaign to the GOP... maybe the caucuses... maybe the state organization... for use in redistricting.

Now, "microtargeting" is defined as the use by political parties and election campaigns of direct marketing datamining techniques that involve predictive market segmentation (aka cluster analysis).

Apparently, he wants to be PAID for this information, as the figure $100.000 has been bandied about.

This type of data can be quite useful for redistricting... and the money?

That comes, I'm told, from the taxpayers as a redistricting expense.

As a "true" Republican, Rossi should provide any information along those lines to the GOP and the caucuses for nothing.

Which brings us to the rampant rumors of a lawsuit.

Fundraising Partners NW has as a principal one Amy Barnes. I'm not sure of the particulars... but the number kicked around is... well... $100,000.

Coincidences abound.

More as I get it.
