With an arrogance only matched at the local level by Ridgefield Barbie, The so-called "post-partisanship" president told us that "I won" way back in January, 09.
And so you did, Barry. So you did. But THIS time, you LOST. Badly.
So tell me. With Obama on the ropes and acting as if politics or policy made as much sense to him as Sanskrit... tell me why it is again that the GOP should pay any attention to him?
Clearly in over his empty head, the community organizer in chief simply lacks the wherewithal to come to grips with the issues confronting us and the problems he's caused. Recently, the GOP's dealing with Barry is much like stealing candy from a drug-addled baby.
Every day continues to be a nightmare for Obama as he rapidly tumbles towards the worst presidency in the past century, even more inept and Keystone Cop like then the late, completely unlamented Carter Administration... a horrific idiocy that I'm starting to long for, given the current clown running the show.
Politics and statesmanship is the art of compromise. But ONLY when it's necessary. And right now, I don't believe it to BE necessary.

I sense you are more disgusted with Obama's seeming total lack of backbone then any real issues. What do Republicans have to complain about - they're wiping the floor up with the guy?
ReplyDeleteBecause my over-arching concern isn't Obama, Republicans, Democrats or anything related to that.
ReplyDeleteI'm complaining because this guy is hurting my country. He's burying us in debt based on the false premise we can spend our way out of this recession. He seems to simply not get it... ignoring what the election told him, turning a deaf ear to the people... "managing" when we so badly need a leader instead.
We are getting clobbered in every imaginable way. Economics? Foreign policy? The Wars?
We are getting hammered. And he's helpless to stop it.
The classic Reagan question comes to mind: are we worse off then we were 2 years ago? Is that even a question?
My disgust is that we have a president who is seemingly helpless to impact events anywhere. The tail wags that dog with ease.
I'm stuck with the thought that you could do a better job. But you're not the president.
But you LISTEN. You may not agree, but the fact that we can have these discussions seems to show that you allow for the possibility of modifying a perspective or opinion because it might have merit on its own.
The president seems to put partisanship ahead of common sense. Both sides get wrapped up in the process and forget why they're there.
The GOP is "winning" this round yet again because frequently, they can out think and out strategize this guy with ease.
Meanwhile, many of the most important issues remain unresolved, or even unaddressed. There us certainly blame on both houses here.
Why am I complaining? Because we elected a guy with no clue, or experience to prepare him to run this monstrous organization with any semblance of political awareness.
And yes, the tax break issue is a loss. But so is having to cave on the issue of extending unemployment to the cost of yet another $150 billion to the deficit.
That's a "victory" for Obama... one where we all lose except for the 2 million who are getting money out of MY pocket for THEIR 3rd year of unemployment.
This is equivalent to Bush Sr.'s "No new taxes" renege... He never recovered from that - ya dance with the one who brung ya.
ReplyDeleteI had one of those days when you talk back to the radio today as I listened to Obama whine about not getting "his preference". The thing he doesn't seem to understand is that he doesn't get a preference. He represents the people, and the people spoke quite clearly. He needs to represent the people...he doesn't get a personal preference.
ReplyDeleteMaybe he shouldn't have voted for himself.
