Snuck in as part of the $1.1. trillion "continuing resolution" bill that left the House was the last second inclusion of the so-called Carcieri Fix.
I'm wondering where the local rag is on all of this. But they're no where to be found... so you can get some of the info here:
If the Senate passes this crap, the megacasino will jet back to life... again.
.
Good. No reason whatsoever that casinos should be restricted as much as they are...
ReplyDeleteThere are, of course, at least a dozen such reasons.
ReplyDeleteHey, wait. I thought you said the elected Megacasino (La Center) City Council was in Barnett's pocket, was signing an MOU last Jan, and the casino was going in and was to drive Megacasino into doom. And this all happened as you predicted, right? RIGHT?
ReplyDeleteWell the obvious problem is that you actually believe you think.
ReplyDeleteHere... let me help you with that:

My position then, as now, is here:

And I stand by it.
That said, Carcieri killed the casino... though the thugs supporting it spent a great deal of time, effort and energy trying to convince everyone that it didn't.
Irish's effort blew up in his face, since he kind of failed to let anyone on the council know what he was doing. In the interim, those smart enough to oppose this economic black hole bought some time... and with the sudden, unexpected death of major tribal cheerleader Mike Nolan, the effort was derailed.
Your babble notwithstanding, the local rag's failure to report that is, of course, inexcusable.
Thanks for stopping by, and don't hesitate to come by again, although perhaps some psychiatric meds... Xanax or something, first?
