I-1098. It's an unconstitutional income tax wrapped in a camel's nose under the tent flap approach to scamming us with a state income tax via the ol class warfare scam.
The scum behind this effort know that. That they know that is illustrated by the fact that their first television ad... well... doesn't bother to mention that it IS an income tax.
The fringe leftist whack jobs behind this and supporting it want us to forget Obama's lies about those of us making under $250,000 not having to pay "another dime" in higher taxes?
These clowns want us to pay a LOT more dimes... ALL of us making a living... so these clowns can spend it.
The Seattle Times has the details:
Politics Northwest
Man up, Gates. This is about a fricking income tax, an income tax where the threshold will get lower and lower and lower. You punks sat around a table and you actually concluded that if you can play the class warfare card, you can find yet ANOTHER way to screw the people out of more money. The Seattle Times political team explores national, state and local politics.

Initiative 1098 supporters are running their first television advertisement that talks about the benefits of the measure without saying it would create the state's first income tax.The ad features Bill Gates Sr., the public face of the initiative, with piano music in the background. Gates says, "I love our state. That's why I helped write Initiative 1098. Middle class families are struggling. 1098 will cut state property taxes by 20 percent and eliminate the B&O tax for small businesses. It will dedicate $2 billion a year to improve education and health care and only the wealthiest 1.2 percent will pay more."
While indicating the money would come from the wealthy, there's not a word that the initiative would create an income tax targeting high-wage earners. The measure would create a 5 percent tax rate on annual income above $200,000 for individuals and $400,000 for couples, and a 9 percent tax rate on income above $500,000 for individuals and on income above $1 million for couples.
Sandeep Kaushik, a spokesman for I-1098, said the campaign spent more than $300,000 on an initial TV buy with the ads running on broadcast and cable channels across the state.
As for the ad not mentioning an income tax, Kaushik said: "I think people understand what 1098 is about."
At the end of the day, the two train wrecks to our immediate south show that a state income tax solves NOTHING. Particularly when, like you, you have already earned most of your income and won't have to pay taxes on much, if any of it.
But for God's sake, have the guts to be honest about it. Don't hide the fact that screwing us all with an income tax is your ultimate goal.
