Sound Transit hammered over their all-encompasing focus on "Loot Rail."

Light rail is a loser. It is a huge, inefficient, cash-draining exercise in political correctness and social engineering.

Here is an example… an example DESPERATELY needed here in Clark County, where the Winged Monkeys of Light Rail view it as actually capable of having an impact on our transportation problems.

If the Winged Monkeys get their way, billions of YOUR dollars will be spent on a system that accomplishes nothing except further debt, missed deadlines; massive cost overruns uncared for by light rail proponents… and empty light rail cars going back and forth between Clark County and points south.

Sound Transit bus decision questioned
Panel reviewing 30-year plan suggests light rail was wrongly favored

An expert review panel examining the work of the Sound Transit staff on a 30-year transit plan yesterday questioned whether light rail had been wrongly favored over bus rapid transit.

Running buses in existing high-occupancy-vehicle lanes between Seattle and Bellevue probably could cost considerably less than portrayed by a Sound Transit study, panel chairman Mike Meyer said. He had just heard from state Transportation Department officials.

Meyer said he did not think the questionable assumptions resulted from bias on the part of the Sound Transit staff, but rather from a "misunderstanding" with the department.

I pray every day that we don't let Loot Rail into Vancouver. I expect a huge fight when trying to get a new I-5 bridge built.

If light rail worked... if it made a difference... if it reduced congestion... if it was cost effective... if it made ANY difference at all... I might consider it.

But the studies confirm: Even with an extensive light rail system in PDX, Seattle is experiencing LESS traffic congestion.
